Is there anyone here that have mine combo f6B and fosi Audio V3 mono?

-And tried another combo than V3, and it was better?
I have AsciLab F6B and pair of Fosi V3 Mono amps.

Not exactly a big difference in amp, and it was just before I got the AsciLab speakers - but I played one of the stereo pair speakers powered with a V3 mono, and the other from one channel of a Fosi V3 stereo amp (which doesn't have a more load independent PFFB).

In short, once volume matched, no audible difference to me.
and also took some kind of measurement with UMIK1.

Some more about that here if interested.

Now with the F6B and Fosi V3 mono, I'm very comfortable that I am nowhere near running the amps close to their power limits. and that changing amps, as long as they aren't coloured or effectively flawed is not going to make an audible difference.

I play the F6B speakers mostly with subs - so the speakers don't have to work that hard - but I also have a setup I sometimes use that is just the F6B speakers+V3 Mono, with eq to make the speakers have a pleasantly bassy sound without subs. (and I have boosted some bass frequencies to help with room response) Depending on the bass levels of the source music and playback volume, I have perceived that it's possible to push the F6B woofer beyond comfort zone, into audible distortion. But I would say this is still waaaay before the Fosi V3 mono is putting out all of its clean power.

Hi all, for my living room I'm thinking of buying these speakers, still missing amps and pre-amp for the vinyl player (Rega planar 2) thats coming though.
I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha A-S501 (since it also has pre-amp). The 501 would be able to drive these speakers, right?

Yes, assuming typical sound pressure levels at a listening distance of 20 feet or less.

Perfect, thanks for the quick answer. Because I presumed the Yamaha A-S301 would be too weak right?

Not necessarily,

It depends on your listening distance and how loud a sound pressure level you desire.

I conservatively estimate a Yamaha A-S301 will work with the F6B within a listening distance of 12 feet.

Hmm we sit about 3 meters away when watching tv (which i would like to connect somehow if it is possible for movies and such) but it's also to fill the room with music when doing house stuff. the room is about 5 x 9 meters and the speakers will be in a "corner" of the room. So I think better safe than sorry and take the 501 :)

I hope you have a sub, because filling your room without one will be challenging at above average listening levels. (75db to 85db) Otherwise I believe your MLP is just fine.

Nah, don't have a sub, because I don't want to annoy the neighbours haha. Mayyyyybe in the future.
Then it sounds like you'll be fine as you're considerate of your neighbors. You may want one even at lower volumes when playing for the whole area, it will help with keep the volume down, actually.

Meh, I'm doubting to go for the c6b since there is a more clear window when they will be released on audiophonics, and they are a bit better of course... buuuut, it's about 50% more expensive, so it's quite a bumb in price (900 euros vs 1350 euros).

Just to make my choice a bit easier. Would the Yamaha AS-501 also be able to drive the C6B properly?

Yes.

So, I've had these for since July and I am again not quite happy with the sound and I am pretty sure I know why and it isn't per se Ascilab's fault.

They are quite boomy in my LP shelf near a back wall. All bookshelves I've owned, which isn't more than a handful were, regardless of the apartment/location they were in compare to my main floor-standers that are out in the room a bit. How much baffle step correction are baked in? Were the measurements done with the speakers on stands out in the room? Ostensibly I can correct this in my WIIM Ultra, because they aren't bad, just the tonal balance is way off
