Ascilab is the very definition of a paper launch/vaporware as far as I am concerned. If you can't actually buy the product, it's not a legitimate choice worth considering.

Disagree. The product may be difficult to obtain but it does exist.

Uncalled for. I see no evidence of a vaporwear-type of product intro. What I do see is actual product in the hands of both individual customers and dealers in, albeit, limited amounts due to parts shortages and longer-than expected delivery times.

Update: I ordered one of last three available pairs of black BX8C from Audiophonics. They should arrive around begin of July.

If the pair of BX8Cs with the possible addition of your other subs still do not give you the balanced sound with mid-bass punch you are hoping for it may be necessary to experiment with some adjustments in your listening position, speaker/sub positions and if possible add some room treatment. DSP & REW are more effective when they do not need to work very hard. Your asymmetrical room with "wooden floor on concrete, concrete ceiling, concrete outer walls, ... [and] ... bass room modes 20-30dB high ..." certainly presents some real challenges!

Could anyone owning the C8C and BX8C please let me know what is the minimum cable length to connect C8C with BX8C?

I need to order these and try to keep cable lengths as short as possible for a clean look.

The BX8C comes with the xlr and digital coax cables.
I have not measured but I think they are 1m.

Yes a cable is included, the distance between plugs centre to centre is approx 72cm.

I assume the XLR cable is for analog connection only? So, no AES/EBU 110 Ohm cable included?

Btw. Audiophonics just informed me that they received the shipment from Ascilab and prepare the shipment of BX8C to me right now. Very exciting!

Brief update:
I am now running two C8C with BX8C bass extension modules. After a brief setup phase and some comparative measurements I settled on preset P3 (extended cardioid) as this showed the best frequency response (max. SPL) in the important 200Hz range. Peaks up to 300Hz are corrected with manual PEQ, and I tweaked them slightly to prevent large holes in summed L+R frequency response.

Guys, these speakers produce - subjectively - the very best (in terms of impact and fullness vs. precision) bass I have experienced in my living room so far!

Money thank god was not wasted, and I feel absolutely no need to further investigate how my 2x subs could possibly be integrated into the system or even to try a Dirac ART setup.
