Right now, I'm using them at a distance of about 1.2m, but I'll play around a bit over the next few days to see which position works best for me

Ascilab was so kind and installed it during a remote session upon my request. It is a rather complicated update process. Took about 30 minutes if I remember correctly.

I also requested a remote session for an update, but got no reply from them. Didn't see them here for a while either.

Does the BX8C frame to connect to the C8C have 4 or 8 mounting holes? I noticed one of my speakers has 4 holes and the other has 8.

My C8C (first batch) has 8 mounting holes at the bottom. The original foam rubber at the bottom had 8 holes also.
I received replacement silicone rubber pads with only 4 holes, however. Seems that ascilab has implemented a design change?

Regarding the BX8C I don't know as the frames are pre-installed, and I did not remove them. Frames have 8 holes, with a black round sticker to close the opening.

Happy owner of the C8C´s pair, and I'm using them analogue thru a Adi 2 pro; however, I'm thinking of starting to use it as my main AD/DA Mastering converter, so I will connect the C8Cs with the USB cables provided.

Now, I'm on a Mac m4 and don't want to install Windows emulations, etc.

Can I just connect the USB cables provided to control the volume on the C8Cs? Do I have to connect each speaker with the USB cable or just one speaker?
Need an AES digital cable to connect them from L to the Right.

I'm not ascilab but think you cannot send audio to the c8c over usb if that's what you were going to do. There is some volume control there (to maybe set a maximum and there is default) but normally you would do it on the sending side where the aes signal comes from. You go aes in on one of the speakers that comes out of the aes through port that you connect with the other speaker aes in. The usb control app is used (among other things) to tell the speaker it is Left or Right once.

@Taker maybe something like the shiit eitr 2 is helpful here?

Who leaves a 19Hz at such high volume in a music track?

So your speakers are now set to L+R when you connect aes. Just saying. Ask someone for a windows laptop or something. You won't need it for too long ;-)

That's confusing @Taker

The C8C accepts either digital or analogue ‘in’. I used to use an RME ADI pro to send and attenuate a digital signal, recently Eversolo’s T8 equally capable.

Maybe who didn't hear it in on their own speakers and thus found it not bothering. Would like to know the source of that signal.

Worst case to your units would probably have been the clipping indicators turn on.
