@AsciLab are there any news re the firmware updates that were mentioned a while back already? I remember there were issues with HFD so I was wondering if these were fixed so we can do the updates ourselves.

Additional question: Is the firmware update only affecting C8C frequency response and directivity in standalone mode (P1 and P2) or does it also have an effect on C8C + BX8C (P3) configuration?

Yeah, there is no absorption on the front wall behind the 8C, but in the corners on the sides of the speakers i have stacked bass traps floor to ceiling (80x80cm diametre) to catch the low frequencies in the room (especially the sub region), because they are cardioid only down to 100hz.
And on the back wall corners i have 50x50cm bass traps floor to ceiling + 10cm thick panels all over the room to control the reverbation.
Soon i am planning to put 20cm thick cloud over my head.

Wondering if C8C + BX8C need that much treatment for optimal performance in a room.. but as far as I know acoustic absorption is never too much in a medium sized room of 18 sq/m like mine.

Not necessarily. It is about directivity, not about max. SPL.

The same logic (uniformity vs. max. SPL) applies to using multiple subwoofers in small rooms.

Yes exactly, as far as i understood BX8C makes the whole combo sound better, not just louder. And the cardioid bass is extended down to 40hz, which means it is much more precise, direct and tight.

Listening distance is 1,5m.

I can extend the listening distance to 2 meters.

I got it easily by requesting a remote support session. Support offered same day, I postponed to a few days later to fit my schedule.

It's the only distance ~9 ft. I had the C8Cs on a desk, while I was waiting for the BX8Cs and anything less than ~5 ft wasn't great, but I didn't spend a lot of time adjusting them, as it was only temporary.

I assume you have to dial in the same PEQ in both modules, at least until the highest frequency the BX8C handles.

There is no issue with combining V1.0 and V1.1.

I’d recommend to apply the same filters on both. At least up to 250Hz.
