How would you describe the improvement? What size is your room?

4x8m with speakers on short axis almost near corners, and 3m listening distance.

It presents a much bigger sound, in extended cardioid mode the bass is less affected by room, its crystal clear. Bigger more precise soundstage, the impression of greater clarity. No distortion, can just keep cranking it - have to be careful lol

The C8C alone was marginally better than my 8361a (probably comes down to room and personal preference), the addition of the BX8C now puts it in another league. I dont know what to compare it to in my experience.

Mind boggling when you consider the C8C/BX8C is a similar price to the 8361a locally.

Very nice!

Do you have acoustic treatment (such as bass traps) in your room, or you rely only on the cardioid technology of the speakers for the sound?

Thanks

I do have some old Artnovian bass traps in the corners. Bass tends to get boomy in my listening space. I also use convolution filters for bass control, but have not got around to that yet with the BX8C. The bass is more clear than the C8C alone -where EQ was necessary.

anyone got a picture with grills
The lighting in my photo makes them appear "brighter" than they actually are .

Did anyone order grey? Curious how close the match is to Producer Grey like Genelec or Neumann

Oh yeah that's pretty cool thanks for that. I really struggle with the look of the white drivers so that helps a lot

Just FYI there are no gille covers, and never will be, for the BX8C if you choose to go down that road in the future. Someday when mine arrive I can do an updated photo

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Looks nice with the mini grills for sure. I wonder if the driver manufacturer would anotize the sidewoofers black if asci labs had a big enough order ;-)

The post ‘pre-order price is just £500 more, so £4500 pre-order to £5k per pair inc vat now.

I am not sure how much more Audiophonics are charging, now the ‘pre-order’ period is over.

@AudioJester @AsciLab I got my BX8C, installed them, connected correctly in daisy-chain via SPDIF but I cannot set the one C8C as master and all the others as slaves, is it normal?
All are preset on P3. SPDIF is forced in the input section. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for sharing your situation. Would you read the BX8C Manual? We'd decided to block the Master/Slave feature. Unless using remote, that function has larger confusion than benefits. So we set the option to be Master only. It doesn't prevent any function you need. You can use daisy-chain via SPDIF while set the input channel as SPDIF.

ok sorry, I missed this - thanks for your quick answer. Should I also then set the C8C that was before a slave (before getting the BX8C) as master?

Please set the all speaker as Master. Just set the correct digital channels.
