Hi

WIll wonders, from this company, ever cease? This is worth saving for. A pair? Endgame for most audiophiles not living in billionaires abode. If and when additional money become available, add a pair of BX8C ... Epic audio system.
Not yet ready to scream : Take my Money!!

Wow!
I really hope more people understand this.

Lot of H2 of C8C in the sub range is occurred by Sd(x).

They have thick surround to have linear suspension. And we modified the VC to get more symmetry Bl(x) curve. So if measure the sub woofer in near-field at the cone, you can see much lower H2 than the far-field measurement. But if set the mic at the surround, much more H2 is measured.

In conclusion, If we use Purifi driver for the side subwoofer, it will be quite low distortion even at H2.

At 2 m, with an 18 cm offset, you're within 5.1° of the acoustical axis, at 3 m, you're within 3.4°. ;)

5° may seem to be a small tilt when just looking at the number, but try tilting your speaker like that and I think you will realize it’s quite a lot of tilt. ;)

I have around 2° tilt for my speakers at a listening distance of 194 centimeters. It doesn’t look that small of a tilt.

I mean you don't have to tilt.

Also, for those unaware, Sd(x) is radiating area modulation, how the surround changes the radiating area when the cone moves. See image courtesy of Purifi.

Why spend 100k$ on a pair of speakers while you can spend 6.5k$ on this and the rest to the cables, cable raisers, power conditioners, etc.etc. Because you know, synergy ;)

This is pretty fantastic performance that would justify its pricing even if amplification wasn't included. I don't mind speakers that achieve their best response toed-out as I tend to toe-out anyway to widen the soundstage. Are the somewhat wonky dispersion anomalies between ~400Hz and ~1kHz a result of the side-firing woofers? Otherwise, I'm not seeing anything objectively that would steer me towards the D&D 8cs over these. The former does provide more power, but also higher distortion. And one could add the bass modules and still come in well below the cost of the D&Ds - super impressive.

Once supply is caught up, will these be available to purchase individually? Edit - Just checked the website and found the answer: yes.

i really enjoyed the Kii Three for a long time but couldn’t justify in my own mind the incremental cost of their bass extension (plus I thought they were a bit ugly) but I could justify it for the combo C8C and BX8C. If said combo is as good as people/data suggest, I’m good for another 8-10 years with these.

Also, adding a regular sub or two to the Kii Three required skills (latency issues) I was just not interested in acquiring…

The C8C is awesome!

Hypex Fusion plate amps use NCore MP amps inside. And Hypex recently released the refreshed NCoreX MP amps, which are slightly better at higher power. I wish the C8C was using the new amps already. Though it would be possible to DIY swap if someone really wants to.

Wait for S8C ;)

They are extremely quiet, a couple of centimetres , I happened to have a nineteen year old available and he was able to corroborate..

How warm do those amps get inside this speaker? Will it impact longevity?
