Ascilab C6B Speaker Review

It is at high SPL and it is a bookshelf. The laws of physics shall not be defeated.
But nothing a sub or two and having xover capability in the DAC or Amp can't

If the woofer is more capable like the Purifi or Revelator line of Scan Speak or Excel line of Seas then the distortion below 200 Hz will be much better. Well even Peerless NE180W or Wavecor WF182BD09 has better bass performance.

Why not use a third C6B for center? If the dealer won't sell you a single for this purpose, that's a huge mistake on their part.

Amir must have had the wiring reversed.
All the other Ascilab models show normal polarity.

I think the polarity was correct. Here is a comparison of the step responses of the C6B and Audio First Fidelia as measured by Erin.

All joking aside, Thomas does have a point. By convention the step occurs in a positive direction. Both drive units appear to have the same polarity. One would think the leads were reversed as opposed to the units being wired with inverted polarity.

Does absolute polarity matter? Not going there, except to say it does if some of the units in a system have normal polarity and some have inverted polarity.

Having basically built an ascilab c6b with the same drivers (sans the tweeter plugs) and playing with various filters, they sound better with filters that keep things in polarity. Ime pretty much every multiway sounds better if you can keep drivers in positive polarity.

The voting isn't "poor for the price", "not terrible for the price:, "fine for the price", and "great for the price". So some individuals will take price into account whereas others won't.

What is their point of reference then? Do people compare it to other speaker measurements regardless of price? Should it match a6b?
