Is anyone running this combo? Is the 1.2ohm dip of the C6Bs at 200hz a problem at higher db's or am I overthinking this.

Setup would be pared with a dspmini flex and subs but obviously not crossed at 200hz. I sometimes run my setup to 102db or so but 98% of the time it's more like 88-90.

Topping specify a minimum load impedance of 4Ω for the B200, so the C6B's Min EDPR of 1.2Ω / Min impedance of 2.6Ω falls well below that.

Amir's graph of the B200 showing maximum output voltage vs impedance and phase confirms that the Amp really hates load impedances below 4Ω:

So yeah, bad idea.

You'll be much better served by a Class D Amp with known 2Ω stability:

Maybe I messed up when I grabbed these B200s on prime day. Seems like nothing tests as well for the price as these C6Bs. Kef r3s are $1000 more.

Irony is I own a Wiim amp ultra that would work great but I'm torn. I really want to play around with dirac live for my asymmetric room and 2.2 is easier with the minidsp should I need a second subwoofer to cancel nulls.

Bottom line? You really got to spend at least another $1800-$2,500k to beat the wiim amp ultra, c6b and sub setup. And even if you do you lose the hi resolution frequency when dirac live is being processed. Not that I am convinced about the phycho acoustics of 20k hz frequency stuff

I've used Fosi V3 mono and 3eaudio A7 mono with my C6Bs, both seem good enough to me. I doubt you even need the mono versions depending how close you're sitting.

Topping amps are sort of weird to me, extraordinarily low distortion etc (way beyond audibility) but a bit lacking on power

In this case it's not a class D amp. What the B200 does is a lot, but not power into low impedance.

Just a bad match.

And lets not forget that the OP states 102dB (what weighting? it matters, a lot) demand along with RC , EQ, etc.
A little bit of more power and healthy gain-staging wouldn't be the worst idea as all the above can take a good bite.

No manufacturer uses EPDR as the basis for the impedance they state. But rather, it is a value where sustain usage won't do damage. In this regard, the 4 ohm spec is fine and no issue with driving speakers as long as protection circuit does not kick in.

I hope to test this soon. The main concern would be if it doesn't get loud enough for you.

Test with the WiiM Amp Ultra first, high passed around 80 Hz, considering you are using subs low passed at 80 Hz too. Should be plenty clean and powerful. If so, return the B200 unopened and no harm done.

102db at the seated position 88" from the speaker using a dayton audio microphone and an app on my phone. Not a level I leave it at BTW.

The speakers currently in use are my are Salk SongTowers I bought new in 2007. Want to put them back in my home theater space and try something new in my 2 channel basement spot.

Wiim amp ultra is in the garage/shop which it's overkill for that job but interesting because it's able to pick up my Wi-Fi so I can play the same thing in the house and garage. Nice trick if I ever throw a party.

On the garage you can add a 300 usd WiiM Sound speaker, should be more adequate.

I've used F6B with Denon AVR-2800h without problems. Plenty loud too.

Hi, I am considering Audiophonics DA-S250NC for c6b, can you tell me if this performance at 2 ohm is good enough? Amir says "it handled 2 ohm at all but 60 degrees capacitive", is that a dealbreaker here?

For that sound pressure C6B are not the best choice. They run out of steam somewhere at 92-94dB in 1 meter. There are not many small two way speakers capable of that sound pressure. You may try Focal Trio11 Be in that role (which are 3 way), which has an embedded power amplifier, so you do not need to worry.

AVP1 is right. Looks like the A6B would be the better fit to get to 102db within the ASCILAB lineup. Not sure when those will be in stock so was eyeballing the C6Bs.

These seem to have a similar low impedance dip but it's below 80hz instead of at 200. Looks like the Hypex NCx252MP ($625) would do it at 4ohms (200w to get to 102) but might be close if it's not crossed over @ 80hz. Maybe $600 more for the purifi option is warranted though I intend to crossover with subs.

Some might say I should be looking at monsters like the 110db capable Philharmonic BMR HT towers but at my 8ft listening distance I don't need more than 102db.

8 feet is not very close. I sit at 9 feet from massive ATC SCM100, capable of reaching 115dB, but at least they won't crap out at any volume I demand. Small speakers are designed for either tabletop and 3 feet distance or for background music in the bedroom, where you can fall asleep while they play
