It's a speaker that has an inverse loudness function built in. Many starts drooping bass instead. It's remarkable for such a small speaker to do 96dB at such low distortion starting fairly low (not the lowest, physics are at play still)
It's compression test doubles that.
Thanks Nuyes!
It's about an octave lower usually IME., 500 Hz is about where the Schroeder frequency is in many rooms.
I'm assuming the same as in the A6B given the description "1" Alumina Ceramic Dome Tweeter with Custom Waveguide and Phase Plug":I wonder what kind of tweeter it is possible to set such a low crossover point with? Presumably in that case with a very steep filter to protect it.
Funny you mention the M106. I'm looking to upgrade from those to the A6B primarily for much better bass performance - I have no problem at all with the highs. The tweeter ASCILab use is a sleeper. In fact its original incarnation has been on the market for at least a decade. One of the first products it appeared in was the Revel Performa 3, the OEM was SB Acoustics in 2013.

Revel M106 Bookshelf Speaker Review
This is a review and detailed measurements of the Revel M106 bookshelf speaker. It was kindly purchased and drop shipped to me. It is not a new sample but came to me with full packaging and protective wrapper. The M106 costs US $1,000 each or $2,000 for a pair. It is only sold through dealer...www.audiosciencereview.com
Looks like the woofer used in Revel's PerformaBe series. Thanks for the test Nuyes.
Really nice speakers. I'm guessing it's SBs woffer in them. If it's who I think it is, it's a pretty good driver by the way. The driver is a good start, but it is not enough in itself. It needs a good construction and we have that with AsciLab. Very good work.

I guess this woffer:

Edit:
The only thing I'm thinking about is this what Nuyes wrote: The impedance drops as low as approximately **2.2 ohms** at its minimum.
It sounds like it could be a tough load for an amplifier to handle. Would an amp spec'd to handle 4 ohm speakers handle that without a problem?
So that makes this speaker a love child between the Performa3 and PerformaBe series. Great drivers to start with. The tweeter ASCILab use is a sleeper. Great speaker and great review!
I'm kind of late to the party, but @Nuyes what kind of equipment do you use for measurements? I can see they are very closely matched to the NFS.
Regarding the tweeter... is this the SB Acoustics (Sinar Baja from Indonesia) ceramic SB26? What a great performer when paired with a waveguide! They seem to make very good quality and well designed transducers for all kind on industries. I am buying a cinema style QSC SR-8101 surround speaker which uses 1" silk dome tweeter, that I am mostly sure it's made by Sinar Baja and closely related to the textile SB26.
