AsciLAB A6B @ Purité Audio

SOS is ‘pro’ but the Kii’s and 8Cs were easily able to straddle the two markets,a transparent speaker is a transparent speaker no matter where it is used.
I suppose an active version of the A6B would be more appealing to the pro audio customer.

My A6B demonstrators had a brief sojourn on the South Coast, as the guests of Phil Ward (SoundonSound magazine) but they are back!
This evening I can enjoy both the A6Bs ( Eversolo streamer/Boxem ‘Arthur’ power amp ) and Thorbjørn Sigberg’s ‘Sarannas’ ( Eversolo T8 AES straight into the Sarannas) or Harry Yeung’s First Audio ‘Fidelia’s’ connected to the one box Eversolo ‘Play amp/dac/stramer/phono .
Harry sent me a photograph of his new three way Cadentia, which also looks and sounds superb.
Really a golden age for loudspeaker design.
Keith

Sarannas turn, Pixies of course.

Those are great system options for your customers!

Do you have a personal favourite?

I personally wouldn’t call them that, great drivers though Lars,

Keith

@Matt_Holland Sigberg Mantas, if you have the room for them the distance from your neighbours the cash and you really want to go *ucking crazy, they are really awesome, the Sarannas are practically as awesome, and the A6B are really superb, the scale the depth the extension from a compact two way well unbelievable really.
A streamer, a Purifi Boxem amp, and a pair of A6Bs total around £5K for the finest sound you will hear.
Keith

that’s a new one. 10 points to Griffindor

Humbly accepted.

Sadly I have had only one opportunity to listen to speakers with Purif drivers, and I was deeply, deeply impressed with the performance. The speaker was Aalto 3 Passive, a mid-sized standmount 2-way.

There’s the next Purifi product right there!

ha ha yes. i must be the first to admit that i poked a few tweeters as a little kid. The experience was part of what grew my interest in loudspeakers

C6B waveguide, photo from my family room. I'm not confident the phase diffuser would protect from a toddler, thin and fragile looking. And the midwoofer's dustcap is probably more enticing.

Got some thin foam grill material in yesterday, got to get around to trimming and putting it on the baffles.

I poked my first as a teenager! I was building my first pair as part of a school project. Curious as to whether the small protective grille on the Seas tweeter could be removed I pushed on some Blu-tak to try and pull it off, however the grille oil-canned inward and dented the metal dome. My dad felt sorry for me and bought me a new one.

Mental note not to invite Matt Holland around for tea.
