I have just see the below posted across social media and thought it would be of interest as a placeholder for discussion as more information emerges on this very interesting looking product.

We're thrilled to unveil ASCENDO's THE HALO 10 PRO ACTIVE EXT CARDIOID—a groundbreaking three-way active speaker that redefines precision, power, and elegance in high-performance audio.
Named for its mesmerizing circular form and its ability to dissolve into the listening experience, THE HALO 10 PRO is a feat of acoustic engineering. Unlike conventional speakers that radiate sound omnidirectionally—often causing unwanted reflections and bass buildup—THE HALO 10 leverages cardioid bass technology, directing low-frequency energy forward while minimizing rear-wall interactions. This results in tighter, more controlled bass, reduced room resonance, and a cleaner, more precise soundstage—perfect for critical listening environments where every detail matters.
✅
10” coaxial midrange driver (operating from 200Hz up) paired with a 3” compression driver for seamless highs.
✅
Six 8” woofers in a cardioid array, delivering deep, articulate bass down to 55Hz with minimal rear energy.
✅
136+ dB SPL at 1m with staggering dynamic range and headroom.
✅
Ultra-compact depth (just 10”), making it ideal for spaces where traditional high-performance speakers won’t fit.

THE HALO 10 PRO will make its world premiere in our booth (4312) at CEDIA Expo, as well as the $1M home theater in Sound Room 7, where it will serve as the LCR speakers behind the Seymour-Screen Excellence acoustically transparent screen. In a breathtaking reveal, the screen will rise to expose THE HALO speakers in all their glory.

Disclaimer: I, nor the company I work for, have no association with Ascendo, I just thought the product looked very interesting and worthy of discussion.

I think he wants to know how deep the response is cardioid.

55hz may mark the point where the bass response begins to roll off, but it does not necessarily indicate how low the cardioid response with a directivity index of 4.8 extends.(unless mentioned)
Yes, it almost seems deliberately non-specific

Up to 8700 W per speaker, pro cinema is indeed built different.

And it looks not half bad, I wouldn't mind a pair in a living room.

136dB is insane, and it looks pretty credible from the front... Will definitely be interested to see spins.

Martin Audio makes 136 dB with CF of 2 (6dB) with single 18 inch B&C TBX 100 like 20 years ago … called WS18X
Ok it’s omni… not cardio, and 18 inch not 8x8 inch… but 8x8 inch is almost double surface than a single 18… 4sq PI * 8= 402 vs 9sq PI= 254… and 20 years passed…

18in versus 10in
Omni versus cardioid
So not a fair comparison.

I don’t care if these cost $400/pair. If you want me to put a couple giant truck tire hubcaps in my living room, they better measure and sound PERFECTLY.
They are designed to go behind an acoustically transparent projection screen in a high end home cinema. No one needs to comment on the aesthetics. Although I think they are very interesting looking and could be made a feature in a commercial application in combination with some tasty pro subs.

And I do like their approach of having their main speakers cut off around 55 Hz. Bass at realistic spl (especially for home theater) NEEDS subs. So just optimize the mains for the rest of the frequency band. Higher spl, less distortion, etc.
