Ascend Acoustics + SVS for office set up or?

You guys are right. Sb-3000 is the winner
oohhh, those go down to 17 hZ (+/- 3 dB) - you'll feel that. when you've got that puppy set up (along with whichever speakers you end up going with), play 'Limit To Your Love' by James Blake. about a minute in, the bass will shake you to your core.

Yep, I think even with the sb1000 having it “under the desk” is impractical. Plus my local hifi shop gave me $150 off the sb-2000 ‍♂️

did you decide on speakers?
Yes. I ordered the lunas. It came down to size on the desk, with the 48-inch wide desk, the 5-1/4 based speakers would be impractical. I emailed Dave about it last week so I’ll update this if he disagrees with my decision. I would have more strongly considered the sealed Ascilabs if they were maintaining stock levels yet. Maybe next time! (Same with the Rythmik L12)

seewhatididther, did you get and set up the Luna's yet? Did you go for RAAL or dome tweeters?

I did make one upgrade you might consider - I got an ArcX + ARC Studio DSP module. You have choices on sound shape, and can even dial in your own ... once calibrated, my whole setup now goes to '11'! Really, it brings the speakers and the music up to another level. I can't say if it's better or worse then a minidsp / dirac live set up, because I've never used one. But man, it really creates more accuracy, more separation and a better soundstage. It simply gives the music more 'life', and certain instruments really come into focus - it's like focusing a pair of binoculars that you can already see birds out of, but now they are a little closer and you can count the feathers. I thought the Luna's sounded great already, now they sound simply amazing. And, you can easily A/B it (vs no Arc) with the press of a button. That let's you easily decide if you like the original or room-corrected ARC sound for yourself. I was sceptical, so i did what I do in all such situations - I bought from Amazon, figuring if I didn't like it, I could return it within 30 days. But no, this one's a keeper.

I have almost the same setup. I have a Wiim amp Pro + SVS SB 1000 Pro subwoofer and I had 3 pairs of speakers: AudioFirstDesigns Fidelia (whose measurements are sublime), the Polk R100 with good measurements as well and finally the Elac Debut 3.0 DB53 for which there are not yet reliable measurements.

I highly recommend you get a calibrated microphone (like a Umik) and take MMM measurements with your SVS subwoofer, choosing a frequency range between 20Hz and 400Hz. You will realize how much the Elac DB53 will give you complete satisfaction for the price. )
I think that properly measured room (with room fit) with decent speakers combined with a good subwoofer can give you pretty amazing results without breaking the bank.

Working hard this morning. I’ve only done calibration thru my iPhone with the Wiim software thus far. I have Arc on my anthem receiver so I could get an adaptor and at least use that nicer mic for this wiim setup. The room gain (whole ground floor gain?) for the sub is biiig.

Fantastic! Congrats @seewhatididther

And we can read your emails and notebook. Not really. Just joking. Or maybe somebody can enlarge and enhance but I can't. Idk.
