This is the new setup in the master bedroom. 80% movies/tv, 20% music. TV is watched from the bed. WAF was a big contributing factor here. Before the Ascend speakers, I had some Monitor Audio Radius left, right, center, and rears. While those got the job done very well, at times I felt they were a tad too small sounding. Compared to the Luna's and Dua, I'd say the Radius is about 10-15% smaller. The Radius center specifically was just too small for believable movie dialogue. In the past I've had larger centers that contain dual 6.5" woofers. One of my favs was the BIC America DV62CLRS with Ed Frias x-over upgrade...I wonder how Ed is doing??

I went on the hunt for slightly larger, higher quality LRC speakers that were white. I also wanted to try out ribbon tweeters. Oh boy was I missing out. Again, the Radius, paired with a Marantz 70s 7.2, crossed at 75hz (center at 65hz), paired with a Dayton 7" Epique in custom ported enclosure (powered by 300 watt Dayton sub plate amp), were very enjoyable and would be more than enough for most folks. the Ascend speakers are on another level, and due the slight increase in size and quality of components, produce a bigger and more realistic sound.

**The Ascend speakers have a much larger sound stage, more dynamic, more realistic sounding. The quality of the cabinets and grill is top notch, and feels appropriate to the price point. The ribbon tweeters have changed dialogue and helped with listening to movies and tv and lower volumes. They have that sparkle, airiness to them. I haven't heard anything harsh yet. I haven't spent a ton of time with them, but if you're looking to upgrade from very small speakers, to smallish speakers, I highly recommend. If you have a giant room, you may want to consider no less that speakers with 5.25" woofers. The Ascend's also come with a personalized measurement that was conducted right before they were packaged. Pretty cool and a first time for me. Also, I realize the placement isn't great being on top of the dresser like that, but that's what was approved by my wife, so I'll take it. Thanks for checking it out! I'll do something 2.1 listening soon and update.

P.S. I also recently mounted a Dayton bass shaker under the bed. That has been really fun and I highly recommend one.
