Can't wait to try these out tomorrow
Ordered a pair of the mono blocks

They arrived basically 3 weeks and 3 days from the day I ordered them
Great, responsive emails

Arrived extremely well packed with 2 sets of Monoprice 14AWG 6ft IEC power cords
  • (1) Hypex NCx500 module
  • (1) Hypex SMPS1200A700
  • Ultra High Damping Factor
  • High 28A Output Current
  • Power Efficiency = 93%
  • All aluminum case w/black powder coat finish
  • 10" wide x 13.5" deep x 3.5" high, 6lbs

I emailed and said I was going to use them with the XLR line outputs of my Topping DX5 II in preamp mode (max 5V)
Dylan said to run these at the high gain setting

Super excited to hear them tomorrow afternoon

Do you think the sexy and leggy mountings for your equipment just invite lots of resonance and vibration?

Debating on adding a preamp to my system. More as a precaution against the DX5 II going into full output

lol. Straight to horny jail with you;)
I’m quite serious actually, here’s my DAC resting on 3/4” foam pad feeding a pair of Hypex Nilai 500 DIY, count me in as new Class D fanboy!

I heard that DACS on soft foam can suffer from sleepy bits creating poor dynamics

Now inserted the Topping A70 Pro preamp into the system

WiiM Ultra streaming by USB to DX5II DAC in source mode/max output for full bandwidth. High gain settings on the Toopping DX5II and A70 pro. Low gain on Buckeye NCX500 monoblocks

listening to Eiji Oue, 88kHz Stravinsky Firebird Suite, 1919 version FLAC

Dynamics and soundstage is insanely good

Crescendoes feel deep and effortless

Percussion sounds incredibly accurate tonally

Attack and decay sounds quite natural
Having been to many live orchestra concerts this system is very close to live sound

Turn the volume way up with no source playing. Beware to turn back down when complete.
Now have someone tap on the unit with their finger while you put your ear to the speaker.
If you don't hear the sound of the tapping coming thru the speaker I highly doubt you'll get any audible gain from isolators when playing music.
Beware to turn back down when complete
I use Sorbotain 1" feet under my DAC for cooler operation. The stock ones only offered about 1/8" gap under the unit and all but blocked the venting
slots on the bottom.
