Arendal 1528 high end speakers

Can't help thinking they have a lot in common with these, Bang Olufsen S80.2 from 1983.

You know, the WG + cone array and a good 8” woofer like Arendal in a cabinet like B&O on a stand of similar design would be a killer modern speaker.

Ikea can provide a small bookshelf that gives you half a meter above ground and even the functionality of stuffing it with books. :D
Ikea small shelves have a load limit of 29lbs.

Yes, a resemblance for looks, but drivers and concept are quite different. By the way, the Beovox S80.2 were very good speakers, B&O is too often wrongly dispised by audiophiles. Too bad B&O has gone the way for pure design for very fluent people. But they always have a strong expertise.

At last, Arendal has released a dedicated and classy stand for the 1528 big bookshelf.

If you are referring to the dynamic range of the speaker in a given space in perceived volume, then I disagree. Music is mixed differently than movies for cinema, movies for streaming, and movies in the near field. Matt Poes has a great explanation on his Youtube channel (which I won't link to out of respect for the new ASR rules) which describes how "loudness" has evolved and mixes are different for various content. Essentially, dynamic range is limited or compressed to raise the overall volume. I don't care if my room is 3x3 or 20x20, I want as much dynamic range that I can get from a loud speaker.
It's purely a matter of required SPL. If you're a couple meters away, chances are the extra dynamic range of a Perlisten compared to a KEF is not required to keep 80 to 85 db.

Does anyone have thoughts about the Slim 8?
IMO it’s the interesting model in the lineup. Would like to see some data. There aren’t very many speakers like it. Also like that they sell sets of 3, 5, 7 etc.

For the price and measurements of perlisten R7t and 1528 very close what do you guys do Wich one is your choice

The price is a joke. Claiming they sell direct to reduce cost for consumers....

Measurements in this link if anyone's interested
BTW Not sure why my previous link was deleted
Not sure what I can add to this description.

Those look fantastic. Super rare to see a full range stand mount.

Complain for the lack of data on vertical directivity.

If you can fit them, I´d go for the Arendals. Those speakers, being full range (even the bookshelves, so also the tower and monitor), they will probably work very well with Dirac Art.

Wow, that's quite a trip hazard. Best not walk by those in the dark.

I loved the Perlisten R series when I heard them at AXPONA last year. The nice thing about Arendal is the 60 day trial. There is no where near me to demo Perlisten.

The 60 day audition is the reason why I will be buying the Slim 8 to test out.
I'm really tempted to try the bookshelf version with subs I have, not that they need subs apparently. The bookshelf are massive, truly passed anything that can go on a shelf, really a stand mount.
