At the end of the day it's just a stereo...

If my house burnt down along with my stereo, and everybody was safe, that’s the time I would adopt that attitude.

But for me, I would hardly say that my current system or previous systems are adequately described as “ just a stereo” simply because they have given me so many wonderful transporting and memorable experiences.

I feel the same, all the way back to the GE suitcase, the Magnavox “component system,” the Marantz 1030 with Maximus speakers to the present whatever. The stereo is always the last thing to move out and the first thing to set up on arrival. Because Barry Goldberg passed on the 22nd I pulled out my old vinyl copy of 2 Jews Blues and listened with a combination of nostalgia and new found recognition of the excellence of playing of those fine musicians. Just a stereo, indeed!

I answered “no but”

I just moved into multi channel after decades of Stereo only. Running Bacch and DBLC in a treated room sounds better than anything ive heard before in stereo only. MCH is another can of worms. I have a long road of tweaking the equipment ahead of me.

Superb Sound Setup
How's the Edifiers ?
I love the Edifiers! They are my go-to speakers for caual listening and act as my TV soundbar. You wouldn't believe the quality of the sound coming out of them, punching way beyond their price point. On a side note, I've just added a pair of Aperion Audio Grandis GR8s to my system and they've quickly become my favorite speakers ever.

So you approve Edifier's good ratings and popularity. They're are also affordable and easy to set up, being powered speakers.

Grandis GR8 is a Class Apart, grand Hi-fi bookshelf speakers that outweighs even tower speakers, literally, because it comes with 8" A.F.G Mid-bass woofer/1.1" Tweeter, weighing 18kgs each!
Again at a grand price: $ 3K
Aperion's Anniversary Launch
So it's something special, making your system grand

Edifier's glowing reviews are well deserved.

What's strange, is the lack of press on the Grandis GR line. Having a somewhat unique look, tank like build quality, outstanding sound quality and being somewhat affordable, you'd think there would be reviews all over the place.

Yes , I connect to music through my hifi and there's nothing that stands out as being 'wrong ' nor do I feel I'm missing out on anything. That's not always been the case and I know when iv experienced other systems iv often felt a bit distracted by ' anomalies ' .

I'm currently going through all the jazz records of the 60s I can find , some have what to me seems like remarkable fidelity. Others not so much , I find myself embracing mono recordings and that's new to me . Generally enjoying having a half decent HiFi , a window into art .

Don't you think it's always the usual suspects who get the best reviews and publicity; Maybe Aperion didn't sponsor such Influencers as they are confident about the superiority of their speakers.
Amir Sir is the right person to crown them. Happy weekend.

There seems to be plenty of press on their other lines of speakers over the years. It's a shame really, as the Grandis line is a real standout and more people should know about them.
