Are the newest Denon AVR's (X3900H) any better dealing with HDMI audio through eARC and your TV?

I have a home theater PC and use an HDMI connection directly to the TV because I also do gaming in addition to watching movies or videos.

My older AVR X6500H of course doesn't support the higher refresh rates so I've run my cables through the house in a way to connect the PC directly to the TV and then use eARC back to the AVR which has worked fine for many years with my X6500H.

A few years ago when the X6800H came out I tried it and they didn't have a fix but for whatever reason audio continually dropped and it would randomly get stuck on a black screen until you rebooted it.

I put the X6500H back, same cable same everything, everything was back to normal. It looks like there's been a number of issues with whatever HDMI chipset they've been using the last few years, are there any work arounds or has the X3900H improved things?

The X6500H has died and I'm thinking about getting X3900H and an amp, versus waiting for the X6900H and paying another $2000 for two more amps.

I replied in your other thread but you might have missed it and it makes more sense here anyway. There may be a potential workaround...

Disclaimer: I've not had problems with audio dropouts and haven't tried the above mentioned 5V inserter.
