Are Fostex DIY Speaker kits any good?

Has anyone had any experience with Fostex DIY speaker kits? I was looking at the following:

Are the kits even worth considering, or would i get better quality just buying retail speakers.

Has anyone had any experience with Fostex DIY speaker kits?

I had one of the bass-reflex Kanspea kits with matching Fostex AP05 power amplifier. Power amp was tiny and cute, speakers were a fun and easy one-afternoon build, though sonics were nothing special, and frequency response wasn't particularly smooth: No real bass, peaky mids. It might have been fun to take the drivers and build larger back-loaded horns around them but ultimately I found someone who wanted my exact setup, so I sold the set.
