I had a 1.5ft monoprice cable from my turntable to phono preamp. There would be a buzzing sound when I would place my fingers close to, but not contacting, the cable's connectors. The buzzing was even louder when I made contact with the cable. The connectors were all snug and not loose.Yes, with a vinyl playback setup that can be an issue. I still shudder a bit at the marketing choice of "BJ" though.
I ordered a 1.5ft Belden 1505F cable from Blue Jeans since it's a bit smaller and more flexible than LC-1, but has the same double braid shielding. The capacitance is negligible (9pF more) at this length. The buzzing completely went away now when I get close to or touch the cable.
