Are 3-inch coaxial 3-way desktop speakers essential? SOVOX MINI MAX3

SOVOX released a video intro/interview in Chinese here. It states that the Minimax3 is aimed at the desktop nearfield market, similarly to the iLoud MM, Adam D3V, and Genelec, all of which the designer specifically mentioned. The designer believes coaxial drivers have advantages in this use case. It’s claimed to be the smallest coaxial speaker (W108 mm × D199 mm). SOVOX is a long-standing brand in China, known for its coaxial speakers in the commercial market (theaters, etc.). This is their first attempt in the premium consumer market.

I came across it while looking for an alternative to the Adam D3V. However, considering the steep price for a new product with a novel design, I bought the D3V in the end.
Smallest 3 way active coaxial speaker I'm guessing, as I have two pairs of smaller passive 2 way coaxial :)

Quite interesting, would love some measurements. I might be in the market for some desktop speakers soon, so the more options the better(currently using JBL308p on stands behind and to the sides of my desk but I'm renovating and probably won't have space for that anymore).
The price seems fine as is given the CNC machined cabinets, but getting them outside of China might be difficult and add to the cost.

I wonder if any of these small coaxial drivers would be available independently, and work well for a new passive speaker build of my own design, that would also incorporate a significantly larger woofer.

Dayton, SEAS and SB Acoustics have small coaxial drivers 4" 5"
Not sure if there are really any 3 inch ones readily available

The SBA 14mm tweeter as used in their coaxial is available separately; you could DIY one possibly or put the tweeter very close to the small midwoofer/midrange.

Edit : Morel have some small ones too, but more for car audio

Any measurements available?
Although the official release includes an on-axis frequency response curve measured with KLIPPEL, the information available is quite limited due to settings such as smoothing (appears to be 1/6 octave). After all, "achieving flat frequency response" isn't particularly challenging in today's DSP-dominated era.

ps. This test chart comes from their video posted on the Chinese video platform: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1psu4zWEne/

I think it might be the same Klippel setup @Nuyes uses. It's not the NFS.
