Hello all,

When streaming via Roon with Dirac enabled, the sound is great, just as I'd like. However, when streaming via AirPlay with Dirac enabled, the left speaker in particular suffers from a strange, unwanted crackling noise. This problem only occurs with AirPlay. Roon and Spotify have no problems with Dirac enabled.

I'm not an AirPlay fan, but it's sad that a promised feature isn't being used.

Please can you explain your title. You have not given us evidence of why an Arcam SA 45 is either generally flawed or is causing the issue you have raised.

I think I explained the problem quite clearly. What kind of proof do you want?

You did NOT state specifically why yo are blaming the Arcam SA 45. If both speakers sound normal on Room, there's nothing wrong with the output stage of the amplifier. If there's a crackle on a speaker with Airplay, it sounds like a setting problem.

Airplay stream to Dirac Left speaker crackle. Dirac off left speaker normal. Dirac enable Roon RAAT always normal.

Your headline is grossly misleading. Seems to be a known problem introduced by one of the more recent firmware updates. At least this is what is sait in the arcam facebook group. If it is a really issue reach out to harman luxury and ask what is going on there. I am sure they are aware of the issue.

You may also post in the facebook thread above. Maybe they got news for you.

Just tried to be helpful, as there seem to be others with the same problem. Happy welding.
I started a thread to discourage purchases of an unfinished product. It's a well-intentioned gesture, but I think you've misinterpreted it.

Did you contact Arcam?
