Mark Henninger (
Stereophile) did a video interview with an
Arcam rep of the Radia SA45,
Arcam SA45 Video, when attending AXPONA. There is also a pretty good video review of the features (no tech or spec evaluation) of
Arcam's new Radia series in the
Audio Advice website,
here. The unit looks to be a very capable all-in-one streaming integrated amplifier. It seems to be available now from some of the major audio websites -- for a while I was wondering if it would ever come out. The thing that concerns me is that there is no mention of a "Processor Mode",
Arcam's term for "Home Theater Bypass", in the SA45 manual. In earlier manuals, for the previous generation of
Arcam streaming integrated amps (SA20 & SA30), there were sections that referred to this "Processor Mode", so I don't know what it's omission from the SA45's manual means. I do know that for me, if the SA45 doesn't have a true or useable "Home Theater Bypass/Processor Mode", it would be a deal-breaker. I did ask
Audio Advice, per their Chat feature, about this, and am awaiting an answer. However, if anyone has more definitive info, it would be appreciated.
