I came across this streaming component [Eversolo DMP A6](https://eversolo.com/Product/index/model/DMP-A6+Gen+2/target/GmOiCZnWE6feq7k9e%5Bld%5D3ulg%3D%3D.html#/) which seems pretty cool/useful for me, granted a bit pricey.

Looking at other makes/models, seems not many feature native Apple Music support so figured to check/ask here if anyone either is running that and/or has other recommendations?

Have an older Airport Express currently that's running fine/okay, with some occasional quirks that require a reset. hoping for a standalone, platform agnostic solution. would love if it had a remote app

I've also been searching for a link from my iphone(using as control/remote) handing off to a receiving device losslessly > my dac & have been running a few(somewhat frustrating) trials :
a. AppTV 4k box optical out wire > dac = works/sounds great but requires an hdmi > video monitor and it's own remote to control/manage the handed-off stream
b. Roku Ultra box hdmi wire > dac = same as above @16/48k, 24/48 or 16/44 depending on AM content(works great in my home theater setup)
c. Wiim Mini box > dac = Airplay2 with some repetitive struggle for it to actually connect with AM iPhone app . . . but not lossless delivery
d. iPhone > hardwired dac dongle > adc = lossless(unmeasured)
e. MS Windows11 Applemusic app > dac = lossless but this requires a Win machine with a hardwire as well(imagining this must be similar to using a Mac machine). Works great for me as desktop situation
I'm reading(my next trial for the big stereo setup downstairs) Android's version of the Apple app can send lossless via a FiiO R7 or an Eversolo device(using a wire) to my dac. Again without being controlled by the iphone.
Best of Luck

Unfortunately, there aren't many compatible devices. The Eversolo DMP A6, Fiio R7, and Wii M Mini with AirPlay 2 are the usual suspects.

Apple TV should be controllable with the iPhone remote app. Small 5", 7", and 10" HDMI displays are available for €30-80.

An iPad or iPhone connected to a DAC via USB would also work and should be controllable with another iPhone.

Another option is a used Mac Mini from 2010 to 2014, which even has an optical output. These devices are often available for around €100 and can also be controlled via the iTunes/Apple Music remote app. Small HDMI monitors can be connected to these as well, and the Apple remote can also be used.

In addition to Eversolo DMP A6, there are FiiO (R7, R9, S15), and HiFi Rose. They run Android and are able run the Android version of the Apple Music app from the Google Play Store.

I forgot to mention the Sonos Port. Unique among vendors, Sonos products are integrated with native Apple Music because of Sonos' longtime partnership with Apple, which began before Apple started making their own smart speakers.

which DAC have you been using here?

may swap out the Airport Express for a Wiim Pro Plus, add a DAC where I can connect both the Wiim and an iPad to maintain dual functionality.

there’s an app called Lysoniq that helps link an iPhone/iPad/Mac for cross remote play, among other features. not aware of a native solution.

an older Mac Mini for this purpose with the Remote app isn’t a bad idea at all, hadn’t considered that. thx for the suggestion
