Hi, I currently have the following, an Apple iPad Air 3 with an Apple Camera Connection Kit plugged into the Lightning Port at the bottom of the iPad. That Apple Camera Connection Kit is both plugged into power and has the USB to my Schiit Modius DAC via the Micro USB port, next to the power port. This works fine, however, I recently sent the Modius back to Schiit for a warranty repair because the Micro USB cable that the Apple Camera Connection Kit is plugged into began to loosen and then snapped off internally in the Modius. I think what happened was that every time i plugged the Apple Camera Connection Kit into the iPad to listen to FLAC files stored on that device I would slightly torque the Micro USB connection on the Schiit Modius. Now that I got it back and everything is back to working I'm struggling to not repeat the same scenario. I've secured the USB cable as best that I could to other cables to keep it from moving around but I'm wondering if there is a better way to connect the 2 devices in my current setup.
The Modius has several other input connections besides the Micro USB, they include Toslink SPDIF, Coaxial SPDIF and AES. My question is can I utilize any of the other inputs as long as the opposite end is USB that connects to the Apple Camera Connection Kit? I've scoured the internet for answers but haven't found much. I have found some unique cables though.
