@fadetoblackbs This one on Amazon UK has the correct Pseudo balanced wiring. Obviously you'd need two for stereo connections. We cant' tell from that information. there is nothing telling us how they are wired.

I got this information from the supplier - as far as I understand it is the right way:We cant' tell from that information. there is nothing telling us how they are wired.
Yes, that looks fine - and matches the diagram in my post above.I got this information from the supplier - as far as I understand it is the right way:
„2549 consists of 2 wires plus shield.
The way we normally connect these cables (& we don't have any issues) is the following:
XLR side:
Wire No1 (Hot): PIN 2 of XLR
Wire No2 (Cold): PIN 3 of XLR
Shield: Pin 1 of XLR
RCA side:
Wire no1 (Hot): Signal of RCA
Wire no2 (Cold) plus Shield: Joined together at the shield of RCA“
Thanks. So now we have another supplier for our europe based participants that offers cables with proper wiring =)Yes, that looks fine - and matches the diagram in my post above.
Yes - use the lowest amp gain that will allow you to drive the amp to the maximum volume you need.If I understand Amirs statement on the very first post correctly, this means I should aim to use the lowest gain setting on this amp for best results?
"You can see the benefit of low gain in am amplifier for best noise performance especially since the dynamic range of the DAC improves as well with higher output."
In what way?How would an amp like this compare to a monoprice 7x200?
TrueLol, Apollon did increase the Prices with 100 bugs more a day before black friday to give a 100 bugs black friday Couponhello Audiophonics..
Hello, first post
I was watching Blade Runner 2049 quite loud and the Apollon just shut off. So did my receiver. This has not happened with my other amplifier.
I had to pull the power chord from the apollon and put it back in. Then it started again.
Is this some kind of clipping protection?

I dont think so, neither was that warm. But i got an answer from Appollon saying, this was probably due to a high peak and the limiter kicking in preventing the amp to get damaged.thermal protection?
In your email you did not mention that your receiver turned off as well. Are you triggering the on/off of the Apollon with your receiver?Hello, first post

No Matias, we are not engaging in any “Black Fraud.” All our models are currently discounted, and the prices remain unchanged across the entire range, except for the ST models. The price adjustment for the ST models was necessary due to increased costs of specific components and materials. The infamous "Black Fraud" as we say here...
"Everything is now for half the double!"
No, i do not use the trigger on/off in my receiver or with the Apollon. I have watched other movies at the same volume and this has not happened then. I was just courios to why it happened and if theres an explanation. In your email you did not mention that your receiver turned off as well.
