Apollon Audio Class-D Amp Build Quality

The standard stereo version isn´t "dual mono"? ... Purify modules are mono, i mean, you always have one amplifier per channel.
Shared power section is another stuff, as an example, one of the options in the Topping v3 mono amps comes with an external shared power supply

In the old days, many class AB amps have shared power supplies with 2 mono amps inside and if i remember right, they was named "dual mono".
I see now that Apollon has finally released a 1ET9040BA based model under their regular Home Audio Amplifiers line.

This dual mono looks very nice in the Lux chassis option.

(also in the regular entry level chassis)

Interesting. Each, mono, board appears to have two output chokes?

Ooops. Silly me. It's a balanced bridge.

A stereo amp by definition has dual mono output channels, but the amp industry calls dual mono when they have 2 independent power supplies.

I thought I'd use this thread for my question about Apollon:
What preamp would you recommend for this? I plan to order the Apollon 1ET7040SA Dual Mono (non-lux version). I want to connect my phono preamp, my CD-Player and my streamer. If the preamp would be a streamer too, that would be an option, so I can sell my streamer. Also some sort of room correction would be a bonus, if not, I think I might want to add it later seperately.

Long time reader of ASR,saw a few thread regarding Apollon audio delivery as well as communication issues, instead of complaining I wanted to share some pictures on their amplifier build quality,in the past 6~7yrs have ordered 4 times from them which includes a Hypex NC500 dual mono stereo amp,a pair of Purifi 1ET400A monoblocks,a pair of Purifi 1ET7040SA monoblocks and the most recent 1 is a pair of premium Purifi 1ET9040BA monoblocks with picture attached below.

Next up pictures of my first Apollon amp,the Hypex NC500 dual mono stereo amp internal after 6~7yrs of daily usage and the Purifi 1ET7040SA monoblocks I bought last year.
Apollon audio amplifier from layout to cabling can be consider as 1 of the best in it class.

I counted 6 monoblocks. What do all of them power?

Do your connect your Oppo directly to your amps?
Yes, Oppo UDP-205 stereo XLR out to front LR 1ET9040BA monoblocks, multi channel surround LR n surround back LR to other 2 pairs of monoblocks using RCA to XLR interconnect, sub out to miniDSP 2x4hd for eq on 3x Rythmik F18 subwoofer.
Volume control by Oppo,b4 was using the BDP-105,been doing so for 10+yrs to date.

I have the BDP-105D, I use it for audio only. I have two of them. In my living room, it's also my DAC that's connected to my fanless mini PC for streaming.

These Oppo players are phenomenal.

I have a NCx500ST in the low cost case, in titan grey. I have had it for 18 months or so. It was out of action for a while, It stopped working on one channel. I sent it back to Apollon, who spent quite some time searching for the fault but didn't find it .

They say they rebuilt the amp with new modules, and I've been very happy with the returned amp. I had some Temple Audio monoblocs (from the UK), with their supercharger dedicated power supplies before, and while the Apollon was out of the system. TBH, I think that Apollon's customer service is very good, and I am happy with the way they dealt with my issue.

I've since discovered that, most likely, was a faulty connection by me of the power cable. I hadn't pushed it all the way home until there was a sort of "click", like it was being clamped into place.

Why would one channel work and not the other? I would imagine both channels wouldn't work.

I have no idea. The original symptom was the amp getting louder and louder and the sound drifting more and more over to the right channel. So my description of the fault, which I now believe not have been a fault, was simply that I had pushed the mains cable in far enough.

It hasn’t acted up at all since I pushed the cable all the way home.
