Along with the Lynx Audio soundcard I recently inherited, the Audio Vault PC had one of these...

Am not familiar with SOtM and does make some sense to me that PC USB might be noisy but can a PCI-e card really be much better than the internal USB ports (noting it also takes power from the bus AND has a PC power connector on the back edge.

Thoughts?

They are a snake oil company. Look at what else they sell on their webpage. It is heavily promoted on subjectivist forums, e.g. Audiophile Style and some Asian audio forums. I would love it if someone sent Amir a sample to test.

I'll ask him but not sure if this is the best product form him to test. Aside from the website, one aspect that seemed odd is a 0.5A limit on the port's current draw. If I was spending money on a premium ASB card, would expect it could deliver more robust current. From what I have been able to find, this card was more than $400 for a new one and has only one USB port.
