Any reason not to order the new Buckeye 2nd Gen Purifi EIGENTAKT 2-ch amplifier?

Sorry for going heavy on Bluesound but my mind combined that along with the horrible DSP performance down low (rising noise floor when used, similar to miniDSP before the partial fixing) and my confidence in them got a new low.

With the ICON, you have the choice via an additional ground connection, just like with a switch. Bluesound default is the use of audiophile equipment with floating ground.

That's a joke, right?Having an RCA cable doing the job of a proper ground.
And nope, audiophile equipment don't have floating grounds. That's for ships and planes.

They better stop the excuses and fix their gear.

I do not have any data on this. However, Crown and NAD do not show the issue.
So your quick jump to say maybe it is a difference of grounding concept on the amplifier side without being able to even suggest what that difference is between said amplifiers? Got it.

I can also imagine a better implementation ;)
However, you can also take the grounding from another position on the ICON.

I have my Icon hooked to a Buckeye Purifi stereo amp via XLR, also have the 12v trigger hooked up between them. I'm having no buzzing issues at all, but there has been plenty of talk about ground loops with the Icon, which I haven't experienced, but my first thought would be that the issue is with the Icon.

Is this the same Buckeye Purifi model?
What is the serial number of the ICON?
What is connected to the ICON?

PURIFI 1ET6525SA 2-Channel (2nd Gen EIGENTAKT)

Icon is usually streaming roon audio, it’s also connected to a Mac via the USB-C input

A vast number of results pop up when searching for humming issues with Bluesound players. At this point, it’s looking less like a downstream problem and more like a Bluesound problem.
That’s my highly scientific, at-a-glance statistical analysis.

That is not correct. Bluesound speaks of an additional ground connection via RCA.

Does this have to be between the Icon and Amp? If so, where should the RCA be plugged intonthe Amp if only XLR is available?

Or would it also help e.g. when adding a phono stage to the icon via RCA in?

To be honest, this is a hard to swollow pill considering the bluesound devices are consumer products for mass market.

I was also thinking to get the Icon and pair it with an Apollon or Boxem Amp. However, I can not hide my frustration over the issues being reported here and the suggested solutions by Bluesound.

Edit: There is also another thread related to this where people report humming. Thought U was replying to that one.

I would ask Bluesound whether they already offer a cable solution for such cases.
Fragen kostet ja nichts.
I have asked them and report back once I get an answer. Also stumbled upon some interesting custom solutions - check the pictures in link below...

I can confirm that the solution Mahir shows in that thread does completely eliminate the hum. It's a pretty janky solution though.

The question is whether you have to do it this way. There are also 'audiophile' power amplifiers that do not require grounding and are therefore not susceptible to noise on the ground line.

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a reason why not all Icons have this issue? Mine doesn't have an issue, trying to figure out if it's something that I have inadvertently avoided in my setup somehow.
