Any motorcyclists on this forum?

I never needed a charger, mine where always daily drivers unless I was between bikes or doing something that I needed a vehicle 4 (towing the boat, lawncare equipment, taking the car out for a spin with other folks and the like). One time I went for 4 years with one motorcycle or another as my only transportation during that time there were a couple of 2 or 3 day ice storms (and we had snow on the ground for 3 days once).

Did a trackday on the Friday, and was touring Arran with the mrs on the Saturday.

(Damn old age... Really miss the whole off road thing myself!)
Besides dealing with the illnesses themself, it's the way ole age steals your ability to do the things you loved most about life.
Golden Years my butt!

Still battery tenders like that shown would double the life of the junky old style lead/acid battery.
I'd plug mine in the minute I rolled into the garage.

Indeed. Aging and illness suck.
I was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2010. Told me that I had 2-5 years max. Still here 15 years later. But with a brace on one leg. As I'm now 60, I'm probably liable for some other shit too by now anyway! WTF.

Miss off roading etc but still riding. Most days. No car. Still have 5 motos and a bus pass tho.
All good.

(must replace the alternator on the R1...
and ride it...like I friggin stole it. While I still can. lol)

I never seen a battery tender until about 30 years after my first motorcycle (I do own a battery tender for the boat these days [so that the battery won't die from being unattended and the boat won't sink from the bilge pump having no power) since the boat stays in the water at my mother's home (first picture) and my home (second picture.)

Beware of Al E. Gator :p

Not here, at least not from 1970-2000 (My first motorcycle [when I was 14], a 1971 Honda CL 175) aloud me to get more income through more jobs (I had a lawn mowing business at 10 & at 15, I was able to go be a mechanic after school. Lets see: 15, at my full adult height for 2 years already (height of 5'8" [173 CM]), same with the mustache,
transportation, money, a 30" (79 CM), literally, the right type of women (adventurous), seemed to pop out of the wood work. I dated one from age 15 to 27. We were off and on sometimes (because their was the occasional "other" one).
I probably should have married her, but I travelled the world instead (9 trips to Europe, 14 trips through the Panama canal, lived on islands in the equatorial area of the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific) and finally got married on the island of Saipan in 2005.
Surprisingly (to me, anyway) we are still married.
But I do not see how those goals were/are counter productive???
At least not until the women that you met while motorcycling (and who was attracted to you because you where motorcycling) tries to tell you "I do not want you riding a motorcycle any more!" Now, a choice has to be made. And, for her, it's not usually the one that she hoped for.
Its was a bad joke about exotic bikes and interesting women migth not get you to keep any money :)

Well, that is true, to a certain extent, but without the money to begin with, the interesting women won't be there at all (and likely, no other women, either).
The not so wild and crazy ones are like looking for a helpful provider of a stable life to raise kids in. That also requires money, though not as much in the short term (but at least a stable income for the long term). There is some crossover there. When I met my wife, she was running a bar for whom the owners had gone on a 2 month vacation.
It turned out that my wife's job was running bars for bar owners or bar managers that are going on vacation. As to schooling, my wife is a nursing school graduate. But this turned out to be more lucrative and more fun.
And we have been business owners of Bars & Clubs for most of our 20+ year marriage (we are now retired).
Funny what happens when you are not looking for anything to happen & just go out for a beer.
I had never been married but, at 48 I did and at 69, I still am. Strange.

Beware of Al E. Gator
They are there, that is for sure.
Sometimes a snake will fall into the boat from a tree.
You have to refrain from shooting it (lest the boat sinks from the hole you just put into it's bottom)
and find another way to get rid of the snake.

Mmm...

Modded Buell?
Trackbike?

Torquetastic.
Me likey!
Torquetastic is what I now look for in an off road application, too.
No histrionic revving & wheel spinning to get up that hill, just roll on the throttle and climb it while maintaining full traction.
For @Sal1950 (the fun begins at 8:24 [at least he has front brakes]):

Enjoyed my federal holiday

Just back from a few days in N Ireland. No road racing on unfortunately, but great to check out Ballymoney museum and the Dunlop memorial park.

Awesome bike. GSXR1000?

Do you race it?
Looks like a lot of fun!
...it belongs to Stites from Maui Racing...

...it is 20 years old and has a long history/many riders and was recently restored from the ground up...

...it was red and white once upon a time...the new paint scheme is an upgrade but still pays homage to original...

...what is lost is the years of signatures from the all the people who rode that horse in anger on a racetrack...several now departed...

...it had been rebuilt many times, but the last wreck really wrecked it...

Nice one. Aye, going by the wear on those slicks, I figured it had to be a bit special!
