In light of Ukraina recently getting invaded by Russia, I thought perhaps now might be a nice time to share good anti-war music. I'll start with a song by Russian rock group DDT, entitled Ne strelyai (Don't Shoot). Lyrics can be read here. They're pretty powerful, so do give them a read.

War. Frankie Goes to Hollywood. 1984 ZTT records. Incidentally a fantastic recording for the era.

Track 4 from their album Welcome to the Pleasure Dome. (ext CD single version)

Also from the same album, next track (5)

Two Tribes. (better sounding extended version)

If you can get hold of the original ZTT 1984 CD, it is an incredible demonstration of how pop music should be recorded.

Interesting history of that song. It was first recorded by the Temptations but Motown was worried about their image so it wasn't released as a single. Then they decided to release it as a single with Edwin Starr singing and it became a runaway hit.

The Temptations wound up releasing the Ball of Confusion single instead.
