Hello,

At High End Munich 2025, Norwegian singer and composer Anette Askvik left her mark on the edition as the official ambassador of the show, unveiling a new immersive edition of her album Liberty. Already acclaimed for its emotional intensity and refined production, the project now takes on a new dimension thanks to a multichannel remix by Gaute Nistov, with immersive mastering by Morten Lindberg (also renowned for his immersive recordings such as the album YULE).

Premiered in an exceptional setting, Liberty (Immersive Edition) perfectly embodies the encounter between artistic expression and cutting-edge technology: released on Blu-ray Pure Audio, stereo CD, and in Dolby Atmos TrueHD, Auro-3D, and Hi-Res PCM, the album places the listener at the very heart of a three-dimensional sound experience.Through this immersive reinterpretation, Anette Askvik offers not only a rediscovery of her musical universe, but also its expansion into a fully realized 3D sound environment.

For this Immersive Edition reissue as well as for the original version, we see a minimum dynamic range of DR10. This is excellent news at a time when many albums are released with heavily compressed dynamics.

Waveform of the CD Immersive Edition

The 45 rpm vinyl edition is based on the original mix, with a lacquer cut that is very close to the digital version (see the spectrum comparison). It’s a very beautiful pressing, extremely quiet.

The Blu-ray is included in the CD/Blu-ray box. The Dolby Atmos track is the one that truly stands out, with an excellent spatial mix that immerses us completely in the heart of the music.
Global - 7.2 ( 6.1 -- 8.1).SP -- small.jpg

For this Immersive Edition, the Blu-ray Dolby Atmos version is the preferred choice, thanks to its lossless Dolby TrueHD encoding and the quality of the mixing. As for the 45 RPM vinyl edition, it preserves the original mix with a high-quality pressing and very low surface noise.

Enjoy the listening.

This is also available as a Dolby TrueHD download from Bird Records, for those outside of Europe, saving the considerable cost of the physical blu ray plus shipping. About 5 Gbytes.

While it is a lovely recording, which I did enjoy, it appears to have been rendered to 7.1.4 and will not take advantage of the additional positions in a 9.1.6 system and reduces the positional precision. It is still well worth purchasing, in my opinion.
