Android Audio vs Bluetooth for in-car audio

i notice a big difference (probably 30% or more in either volume or resolution) when switching from phone bluetooth to usb Android Audio in my car. Does anyone have any thoughts about what could be causing the difference? Curious if it's just a volume difference that is perceived as higher resolution or truly higher resolution? Thanks!

My Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 using Android 15 OS (or probably any other contemporary mobile phone) has a max resolution of 24bit 192khz. Probably using a wired USB connection you could have the full bennefit or listening over wifi wirreless. Bluetooth with LDAC codec could rise the wirreless experience. If im correct iPhone does not support LDAC.

Basicly i don't hear a difference listening to a mp3 320 bit an a converted high resolution lossless file to the mp3 320 format even over my high end audio set farfield or near field.

There's a high chance the volume is different, and until you've matched that and tested blind you won't know if there's anything audibly different. There's also a chance that EQ is applied differently to different inputs - this has been found on some headphones and earbuds, even applying different EQ for different codecs over bluetooth.
 
Louder is perceived as better. Bass and treble become more prominent with a higher SPL. This is known as the Fletcher–Munson curve.

Bluetooth is lossy compression by design. Sound quality depends on the codec used. SBC (the mandatory Bluetooth codec) runs at 320 kbs most of the time.
USB audio is lossless by design. In case of Android it runs at 48 kHz.
 
IMO its kinda moot when there's already like ~70dB broadband engine + road + wind noise.
 
I have an iPhone and CarPlay, I always prefer the USB cable connection.
 
It's bound to be a volume difference. I use USB Audio Pro to play music from my phone in the car and with some EQ added which naturally makes it quieter so I need to increase the volume a bit. It's not a big deal
