Andrew Jones’s new speaker brand - Jones and Cerreta

As Andrew has explained to me, our ears work differently than measurement microphones.
And yet he offers us neither measurements nor blind listening data. He talks out of both sides of his mouth.

Anyway, the claim above is definitely true. Our ears are a thousand times less precise or sensitive than measurement microphones and infinitely easier to deceive.

To be precise, they are not more precise or sensitive above transition, but as Dr Toole says, entirely different and not interchangeable.

As far as preferences go, mics measured what most people like in general as a trend, not as an exact.

Of course we need anechoic measurements from the engineering side. And engineered interpretations too.
What we don't have in full is the interconnection with psychoacoustics or complex stereo effects, etc, hence the rest, vague 30% .

Having known Andrew for a couple decades I would expect if you’re a serious buyer and you reach out to him, directly or through a dealer, that he will share with you whatever measurements you require to make a decision.

Regardless this is a very niche speaker for those that want a high sensitivity design. There are specs on the website. One that stands out is the low extension which on the surface doesn’t seem competitive for the size and price. But I would think tube/turntable listeners will prioritize efficiency and a friendly impedance curve. And for real music I expect the two 12s in this very large cabinet will sound fantastic.

These will surely be reviewed and measured soon enough. In the meantime if you are a real buyer, reach out to them. And also take a look at the reviews and measurements for the many speakers Andrew has designed.

I would suggest that after an initial measurement, figuring out what the best course of action is to improve the measurement is not trivial. The Klippel NFS will not tell you this. So while it makes measuring your speaker easier, the design still requires experience and competence.

Most people would look at their likely far from perfect measurement and go, okay, now what?
Seriously?

Do I have to write that in every post about this?

Anyway: If you have some experience measuring speakers and haven't completely hit a wall, the measurements from a Klippel NFS might actually help you.

Is that better?

Not exactly sure what you are reacting to here, but I apologize if offended you. That was not my intention.

No, there’s no need to apologize, Thorbjørn.
What I assumed was that only people or companies who are both capable and willing to use the Klippel NFS and interpret the measurement data would purchase one.
Once you’ve familiarized yourself with the system, however, it will become easier to obtain consistent results with a little experience.
