Andrew Jones’s new speaker brand - Jones and Cerreta

NA This really goes beyond the Raidho,Borressen perversions-snake oil bullshit....
Fucking pick up is almost 7 500 dollar's
I believe they sound incredible because it's Andrew Jones, but if someone thinks an $8,000 pickup can give them a 10x improvement in sound quality, they're 100% wrong.
In my opinion, this is not even snake oil, this is fucking highway robbery....
There I said and now I feel better, feel free to attack me, it was worth it for me...
i agree highway daylight robbery , these speakers ain't special if they where then george lucas would have them in his , stag theatre

if made by high quality wood by a highly skilled craftsman, not hard to imagine. (of course mark up for those products are insane)
luxury market is beyond our commoner comprehension. Whether the price is "justified" or not is up to debate. A $19 rack from IKEA will function just the same, but as long as they do not tout it as "improve sound quality", I won't bat an eye.

we have more (actual) snake oils to combat, don't throw ourselves in anything that is expensive
They're probably made of teak or some exotic hardwood, but they're just 4 thin legs and two thin shelves, nothing a student couldn't make on their internship.
I'm curious who can justify the $9,000 price tag.
Maybe because the shelf-table is called Crescendo

strongly agree its sheer daylight robbery

He actually apologises to the audience when they switch to streaming.

The valves and vinyl are a good indication of who this speaker is being marketed to. I mean, the equipment rack they deploy costs $9K.

As far as measurements go I'll be amazed if Stereophile don't get them for review in the next six months or so.
Yes, you made me laugh with your first comment:D
Nice sense for humor;)

Compared to this $400K Audio Note field coil speaker
The new Jones speaker is a steal lol

and it's displayed in showroom downtown Manhattan, and if you walk in you will be served an expensive champaign.
those are not meant to be of good value or best bang for the buck. they are luxury items that meant to be about social status for wealthy people.

Nothing about hermes bag can't be done by some (good) craftsman for $2000. But they are selling for $50k+ for the same reason.

Fixed your post for you. This is a family forum ;)
Sorry, I got carried away, but I lost my temper for a reason...
And God grant that the younger audience sees this comment and realizes that you don't have to sell your grandmother's gold or her christening gift to have good sound.

Finally a 2 way costing more than my house :) get a pair for the kids . AN is the worst , there is no engieering just folklore and woo woo for 400k$. This must be the most overrated speakers and at the same time the silliest iteration of the humble Snell EII ever made :D even if you burn trough this kind of money before lunch i suggest you don't buy this anyway , AN transforms money to idiocy and pseudoscience .

unless that speaker has flat frequency response within +- 0.1dB and down to 1Hz so elephants can hear it all the way up to 90KHz to entertain cats , not that most musical instruments go that high otherwise i think it should be used as cats scratching post , just got glue some carpet to it so cat can stick its claws into it

Give me some Wet Leg! Why use the same tired types of music at least play something happening now, anything, Jesse Wells be creative!

Rob :)
Perhaps (and I mean this honestly, with no snark intended) they are choosing the music to match the tastes of their market? I get the desire to hear different types of music, but this is after all marketing going on, and their market is likely an older and more affluent demographic.

The most remarkable statement in that AN blurb from Stereophile, to me, is "It is the only Level 6 Audio Note speaker."
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

And isn't 168-strand Litz wire pretty standard?
Nothing against it, but I believe Litz wire was all the rage in the early days of superheterodyne radio*. Not quite cutting edge technology. ;)

______________
* As, come to think of it, were field-coil (electromagnet) loudspeakers. ... and type "45" direct heated power triodes.

Hello

No I hear you, you are probably correct. They are going for a demographic and I am in that age group. I have been to HiFi shows and I think that they think everyone stops being up to date with music and we all pigeon hole with music we grew up with. Very closed minded and if you ever want a future at least have some music available. Sure they have a streamer there but did they take requests? I always brought my own music and asked if they could play it. Generally they did and in most cases the people in the room with me were appreciative to hear something fresh as opposed to DSOTM as an example.

Rob :)

I'm 70yo, and I'm actually with you on trying to keep up with music. I saw DSOTM performed live in 1973. Still listen to it from time to time, but not real often. When I put on Billie Eilish my friends go WTF until they actually listen. I do have to say that my tastes have shifted to more mellow stuff, but it still needs to be creative and have a soul to it (whatever that means). :)
