The business of audiophiles exploites anxiety, many of its most exotic luminaries are slaves to anxiety no matter their technical knowledge or lack there of. Anxiety and self indulgence, you could argue its a unique privilege of modern living.

Without anxiety audio really isn't a hobby, especially not these days when even cheap gear is transparent.

He wasn't responding to anyone in particular, so there's a chance.
He was definitely responding to that Facebook group, which didn't bother him at all, really just water of a ducks back, not at all triggered.

When I read about such audiophoolia cases often the lyrics of one of my all time favourite songs come to my mind:

The grabbing hands
Grab all they can
All for themselves after all
It's a competitive world
Everything counts in large amounts

"The open palm of desire
Wants everything".

Also one of my favorite songs:

Taking him seriously isn't a problem I struggle with :).

P.S. I only just read that other thread, it was quality entertainment.
It reminded me of family Christmas when Gran has too much to drink and you find out dad was adopted .

Although in reality he is, to keep the answer again with a DM song title, just

Useless

All your stupid ideals
Got your head in the clouds
You should see how it feels
With your feet on the ground

Yeah, I really liked it when the Mentos truck hit the Pepsi truck.

It's just time to pay the price
For not listening to advice
And deciding in your youth
On the policy of truth

Back in my 'yout' [Mikey's too], LPs were the thing, Reel to Reel never caught on, LPs were the best thing going at the time.

Now? Not so much. That's time for ya.

I owned an early Parlophone copy of this on LP. One of George Martin's pre-Beatles productions. This is a rather dodgy needledrop, vague mono center image with stereophonic noise and mistracking:
