So I have perused many threads on the forum and have ended up here :D

I am increasingly confused as to the levels my equipment needs to be set at.

My computer is 100% volume output thru USB to SMSL DO100 DAC set to 99 output :

Into a SMSL AO200 AMP that I use at 22-25 level during day and 12-14 at night-time.

Some posters state amps should be at full volume or near clipping volume and DAC should be used as volume control.

I am new to class D amps in this environment so would appreciate comments and guidance, thank you, g

I'll just convey what I've been told when I was looking for an answer to this:

Not that you'll hear it, but to keep things simple, you shouldn't attenuate in the digital domain. Attenuating in the digital domain reduces the bit-depth. To keep your chain as simple as possible, you should pick one master volume and use it for the volume.

But this is merely a recommendation. Not the only viable way of doing things. Some people like what they get when they combine more than one.
