Rather than having two amps to drive my two DIY passive subs, I'd prefer to have a single amp which can power two subs with combined stereo->mono.

I have found:
- Crown XLi series - which has a Parallel mode
- Paradigm X-850 - which presumably does this (as opposed to L + R)

I haven't built the subs yet but I think I should avoid plate amps to simplify the build and avoid potential amp issues in the sub in future.

What other amps would work and what do you recommend? Thanks

Note 1: AV Receiver is a no, because I custom built my amp (for my speakers) and I will always be using that amp.

Note 2: for DSP I will use a MiniDSP Flex

Note 3: the sub drivers are Scan-Speak Revelator 32W/4878T00

Since you can downmix to Mono using the miniDSP, then output two mono signals to the Sub Amp, it sounds like you could use any old Stereo Amp to drive the two subs.

You don't need an Amp which can downmix internally.

If you're limited by outputs on the miniDSP and would rather not dedicate more than one Line out to the Subs, then simply connect both inputs of the Stereo Amp to one of the miniDSP's Line outs via a splitter cable.
