Amplifier recommendations for Elac Carina bookshelf

How does it compare in your experience with A5x (which I believe has been replaced by A4V) and AE1 for near field performance? Or vs other similar active monitor comparisons?

I really liked the Adam speakers actually but I am always switching gear out. I thought I might go for the never models but ended up going back to passives. The AE1 sounded good for the short time I had them but developed an issue with the amp inside them buzzing all the time so they were returned. For me I enjoy the Elac speakers more but I can't say why beyond there is better clarity and bass to me and overall soundstage. Maybe it's because I put them on stands a bit further away vs on risers on my desk.
