Now I know you might have a different taste, but what do you think of Barefoot? Footprint 02 seems like a nice deal to me honestly. The close cabinet design and the capable low end is appealing to me. This is from a mixing perspective.

I’m not the best at reading measurements. What would the issue be exactly if I used these for mixing? They have bloated bass and bad directivity?

Bass is completely dependent on the room. The speaker just provides the energy. EQ is crucial.

The main issue of the Barefoot is the inconsistent horizontal and vertical directivity. There is a broad directivity error from 1kHz onwards. These are low resolution measurements. "Room treatment, NS10s, Maybe a pair of Neumann KH120 or 150s, or some EVEs to check lows and highs, your ears, a pair of solid headphones, and just your overall EXPERIENCE. That's basically all you need to get a good mix or master." I read somewhere...

From Sound & Recording. Those are/were quite popular with audio professionals - even hyped. Can't quite see why. Price is 2700€ for the speakers and 1560€ for the amp. A pair of Neumann KH310A costs about 750€ less and is much more accurate. Similarly, a pair of Genelec 8350 with GLM kit costs...

In defense of Amphion Argon 3: It has a reasonable WAF (wife's acceptance factor), whereas Neuman's rank roughly on par with full-size paintings of husband's ex-girlfriends.

I got a chuckle out of that!

I have seen those in KL as well but the showroom refused to test them. They are scary expensive and one of the rare few passive cardiod speakers around. I did hear the one15 with their amp compared to the psi a14m in Singapore many years ago. The PSI sounded clearer and "better" to me but both sounded like pretty netural-ish monitors. The were on a monitor bridge when I heard them.
