Ampapa x Douk Audio D1 is in Development and Need Your Advice!

This should have a sensitivity setting for the UV. If used on a desktop the meters can barely be seen to move at all. It shows the output rather than the input.
I do not think that they are designed to measure input (such as on a recording device).
That would probably be a completely different application and engineering exercise.

Hi all
I am a bit of a newbie to this all and had the D1 for a while now and after reading bits and pieces about op amp rolling thought would give it a go

Have put this in and to my ears I do find quite a difference in sound quality/ enjoyment but one question I have is the heat generated from them

They get very very I would say… and wondering is that a) normal to be quite hot and b) would this do any damage to the unit

Thank you for any feedback

Since you didn't specify the op-amps you put in it, no one can tell if you will or already have damaged the D1.
I would simply roll them back to original and enjoy the music.

Op amp rolling is almost pure snake oil. There is no measurable difference between many op amps and if there is one, it's almost always inaudible [1, 2, 3]. There are some edge cases where a swap will result in audibly worse performance and sometimes in oscillations which can destroy your speakers.

The original designers chose the correct op amps for the job. Unless you understand the circuit in detail and simulate or measure the resulting changes from swapping, you will almost certainly change nothing or make it worse.

Unless your testing was precisely level matched, blind and with a switching time of at most a couple of seconds, you cannot reliably tell if there were any audible differences between those op amps. All you got was an illusion of difference.
