Wiim vibelink is my amp but i wouldn't mind trying something above a TPA3255 based amp

Some in a thread mentioned the viblink is single chipped and the wiim amp ultra is a dual tpa 3255 amp despite same power

A dual tpa3116 has more power than a single tpa 3116 amp not a wiim amp ultra, it's close to the same as a vibelink

What does that mean in sound quality, current, control ?

Here is what ai told me about Dual TPA3255 Amp (Dual Mono / Mono PBTL)

Power: Provides significantly higher power and current, allowing it to handle difficult speaker loads (low impedance/low sensitivity) without breaking a sweat.

Best For: Audiophiles looking for better channel separation (less crosstalk), high-power requirements, or low-impedance speakers.

Pros: Generally lower distortion at high volumes and better thermal management due to separate chips.

Power isn't a problem for me my wiim ultra streamer is limited to 75% = turn the volume all the way up on the amp and it's perfectly loud for me and no distortion unless i play something extreme bass heavy music

I have a little money left from selling some hifi and it's marked, say hifi or pc, 300 euros

spdif or optical in, good sound, lots of power + power supply built in the amp would be sooo nice

smsl,O-Noorus or ? Dual chipped 3255 or infineon ?

My vibelink feels alot smoother when i turn the volume knob up and down then my wiim ultra stream, thats why i don't have a power amp or active speakers, no remote when sitting arms length from my amp

1 - Don't rely on AI for this sort of information. It's trainging set is the internet - which is full of all the usual audio mythology, and/or manufacturer marketing data. This is what it regurgitates.

2 - If you are not short of power with your existing amp you are very unlikely to hear any significant improvement in sound quality with any other amp.

I can hear differences with a different amp

As mention there s is a diffrence bewteen single and dual tpa 3255 amps but havn't experienced it my self

I have a little ekstra this month for an amp or something pc related

I use a usb to spdif converter from smsl and thought i could get an amp with usb in to get rid of the converter in the chaine but i can't, it's the streamer the sound goes into first and spdif out just sounds better going into the amp

My fosi audio bt20a have alot more distortion than my wiim vibelink amp and sound less powerfull, thinner less warmerthan my nad mini dvd system with even less power but more bass despite only 20/30 watt (8/6 ohm i think it is).

Fosi audio to much distortion and a power brick, nad is to big (like denons mini system with cdplayer that always for atleast 10 yeast was voated as the best mini all in one system by whathifi every year)

Aiyima A80 (dual tpa3255 chip) also has a power brick, 208 euros

I limit the volume limit to 75% but has the general volume out at 100 because i don't need more power and by doing that it's extremly rare it distorts

Not about power i wanna have a second amp for my main system

The vibelink is a bit special with optical/coax in and it's own ESS9039 DAC, besides doing pure analogue.

Most others will be analogue only.

I can hear differences with a different amp
Blind and properly controlled? And when neither is clipping?

And when neither are highly distorting (eg tube gear) and both have flat frequncy response (no load dependency)

And enough to make a difference to enjoyment? It is possible - but. exceptionally unlikely under the above conditions.

above a TPA3255 based amp
Well, in that case go for 2x Topping B200, A DAC with a pre-amp function like Topping E50 II or with an actual pre-amp.
Although I would say, don't expect to be able to hear any difference at all, the limitations are mainly with recordings and loudspeakers plus rooms.
I tried out Topping LA90 for this reason.

Above a tpa3255, i also wrote 300 euros

Many smsl and similar brands, compact class d amps, cost under 300 euros

Define above.

Better measuring, more power, less power OK?

sound quality

Like a TPA3255 is above a TPA3166

2x50 wat in 8 ohm or minimum 2x100 watt in 4 ohm

I can think of a lot of better measuring options than the vibelink, but with a budget of 300 €...

If you are interested you could look at the Yamaha A-S amp line. Class AB but excellent stereo amps. Can do pure direct / analogue only for max. quality. There is a used market for those. 300 € could maybe get you a A-S501 which should meet your specs.

The current models (around for a decade or so already) also have digital in / DAC. But on the level of the vibelink it would mean the absolute top models. I recommend to disregard that feature. The interesting part is that they all are excellent amps.

Compact

No yamaha they can't play bass as good as wiim

If you are into an easy DIY, an often overlook amp is the ICEpower 125ASX2, bridged BTL, especially now that is has been updated to Conductor tech.

2 x 242 usd each module + 135 usd Ghent case (XLR solderless) = 619 usd + shipping + customs

You're asking too much for too little. There's obviously the used market, but gotta get lucky

I have had yamaha amps

I guess it helps using room correction

Im not even shure there is something above a TPA3255 chip atm, Infineon ?

If you are referring to sub out and bass management - yes, these Yamahas just have a basic option there.

Keep that with the WiiM streamer -> active sub.

No im not mentioning bass management

What are you saying then. These amps play bass like every other amp.
