Amp suggestion for a single Auratone 5C

I does not hurt a modern transistor amp to run with one channel unconnected , so use it in stereo .

However you have to mix a mono signal to the channel you use so you can hear all the stuff :)

But why the horror-tones ,why not create mixes that sounds good on good speakers , at least they sound good when the listeners have a good speaker .

Trying to second guess how horrible it sounds on low fi qeuipment is piontless , now you have a mix that sounds equally bad everywhere :eek:

The good mix still sounds bad on low-fi stuff but these listeners actually dont care at all about SQ so why mix for them ?

But it has a figthing chance to actually perform when the listener supplies a good stereo or headphones :cool:

Horror-tones are the ultimate rendition of Floyd Toole's "circle of confusion" and should be banned.

Yes. I can send a separate mono mix to the out.

I have a pair of HS50M speakers in an untreated room, I use them at very low volume and sporadically.
So I started recently a trial with the Audeze LCD-X headphones, in which I can return it if I don't think is worth the money.
Regarding the Auratone, I got it for:
1st - to learn its sound;
2nd - to see how it can improve my hability to deal with the mid range;
3rd - to know why my favourite producers swear by it;
And 4th - to check with my own ears if the "horrortone" is nothing but a meme, I.e.: BS. Or exactly the opposite.

so there's only one way to know about that.
