Hello guys. I’m looking for an amp for my Monitor Audio Silver 100 6g. In my research I found some amps like: CA CXA61, CXA81 mk1 or mk2, Audiolab 6000a and 7000a, Rotel A12 mk2 and A14 mk2, Yamaha AS501 and 701, Hegel H80, NAD C368 Hybrid. Do you have any advice or suggestion? My source is an android tv and I listen from Spotify and tidal, disco music, dance, pop, Latino, 80’s, blues and jazz sometimes, I don’t listen metal, hard rock and something similar. Thank you in advance and I hope you can help me because I’m overthinking this situations and I don’t know what to choose. Previous I had an onkyo integra 8650 and wharfedale diamond 225

Only check for the power you need and a decent price / performance ratio.

I had the silver 2 (some generation ago in MA) and they wasn't tough regarding the amplifier.

You named many audiophile "holy cows" and let me say that with some of them you only will spend more money for the same (or lesser) results. I replaced my trusty british amp for a purify class D and I don't have regrets ... more detail, power and less noise for less comparative money.

Check the ASR reviews and do as you please, in the end only our happiness is important, but I repeat, the best bang for the buck has changed with new technologies. The older brands are fighting that with marketing or some are absorbing that technologies as nad, marantz, etc.

Check out the WiiM amp pro just reviewed here in ASR. Should be a minimalist all in one solution for your system for 380 USD.

Just out of interest, do you still have your Onkyo? If you do, and it is working ok there may be no need to change amps at all.

That said, the Yamahas get a lot of love here but check some measurement based reviews (try to avoid subjective opinion, it's rarely useful).

What makes the biggest difference to your sound is being able to adjust/correct for speaker and room interactions. That means some sort of DSP/PEQ. One simple way to do that is with one of the WiiM products. These are especially good if you are streaming.
Have a read and see what you think

Onkyo was sold. I’m not so good at numbers, I am new to this field and try to understand them and compare but in reality we listen music not numbers. I try to figure out what amp is best for me, for future in case I want to change the speakers and have some features. In other case I’m not bothered to buy a streamer in order to benefit of some features like BT, streaming apps, Eq etc.

Thanks for advice but I’m reticent about D class amps. I have to read more about them

There's nothing wrong with class D. If you look at this sites leader board/chart it's dominated by Class D based amps.

The ones highlighted are not Class D.

Class A, A/B, B and D amps are all capable of excellent performance, but you generally get more power with a class D design for a given price.

We do listen to music, that's true.

The numbers, the measurements, help us understand objectively if equipment is changing that music in any way: adding distortion or boosting/decreasing certain frequencies. In reality, modern electronics - especially DACs and streamers but also most amplifiers are so good that any differences between them are so small that they are inaudible. That helps because you can just buy something based on the features you want.

The class of amplification (A, AB, D) is about the electronics, it's honestly not worth thinking about and is absolutely NOT worth spending extra for. Reading up on all this is a good idea, if you are interested.

Buy for the features you want. Be very wary of subjective reviews (often complete nonsense about 'timing' or 'warmth'). Yamaha is safe. Don't ignore Class D for no good reason, and do think about the WiiM Amp Pro for the features.

I changed my costly class AB amplifier for a class D and is the same that many audiophiles are doing over the world.
Even brands like Mark Levinson or Mcintosh are releasing class D amplifiers ... if you want the truth about it, check the facts and not marketing dogma from 50 years ago.

Measureaments allow us to "identify" the engineering efforts inside a product, that's one facet of the total picture. It's really hard to pay 10x for a product that performs 10x worst and with inaudible differences at best.

ASR helps me to see the facts (science), and not to listen to the branding or sellers "blah blah". Game changer.
The results, in favour to audio users, are astonishing.

in reality we listen music not numbers.

Numbers are descriptors. Not only that, but they are accurate and reproducible descriptors. Can you imagine audio without them? Numbers describe how microphones work, they describe how digital recorders work, and they describe how amplifiers work. If the designs are defective, numbers also make clear what is wrong and why it happened, vis-a-vis tests and measurements.
Numbers make cell phones, GPS, air travel, robotic surgery and space exploration possible.
Never underestimate numbers, what they do and what they are telling us. If you don't like the message, don't disrespect the messenger.

You have only to ask ... :) This site might be just what you're looking for. https://www.analog.com/en/resources/analog-dialogue/articles/class-d-audio-amplifiers.html

Not only that, but if you need more information in regards to audio, this page may be helpful:

Good luck on making your decision!
