(usually I just hit alt-left arrow to return but that does not reduce the list by the thread I just read).

Because the previous page is pulled from cache. A quick hit on F5 after the alt-left arrow should solve the problem.

I put a link to new posts here:

No scroll or keyclicks needed.
It's even there when I'm someplace else and suddenly just have to see what you folks said that I could have missed.

The link to use is www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?find-new/posts

You might want to take a look at Pro-Ject Pre Box S2. Pretty interesting DAC/Preamp/Headphone amp. EISA AWARD winner 2017/2018 dual mono, 2x ESS Sabre ESS9038, capable of high resolution audio up to 32bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512 + MQA. And Roon Tested. Remote control. Full future set. 350 EUR. I own one for my headphones zone, and I am very happy with the quality of this little box.

Maybe it’s just me but bit deceiving saying on main product page that it uses ESS 9038 when it actually uses the 9038Q2M which is the same DAC chip in the Topping DX7S or maybe I just don’t get these weird naming schemes for DAC chips.

Yes, we had discussions about it and I have expressed strong desire to review it. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/bargain-dac-suggestions.1381/page-21

I have not heard back though so not sure if one is coming. So if there is someone US based wants to loan it to me, I would be happy to measure and evaluate it.

Here's a great To Do,
Take a vacation, somewhere the sun is shining, temps in the 80s, the water crystal clear.
Somewhere the young hotties wear less than an ounce or two of cloth.
Somewhere the drinks are cold and the weed is smokin

There is new "budget" Mytek, for 995 USD. https://mytekdigital.com/hifi/products/liberty-dac/. Could be interesting to measure.

From their product page:

External Power Supply Options
Mytek Liberty DAC (also Brooklyn DAC and ADC) is equipped with external 12VDC power supply input. There is some sound quality improvement (particularly deeper base and better soundstage) when a large external power supply is used. To have an effect the power supply has to be substantially (5-10 times) larger than the 30W internal power supply. Here are some option which have been used by ur customers. Mytek has not yet conducted testing of either of these.

So they are admitting that their own stock PSU is sub-optimal and they didn't bother to test and compare with other PSUs?

EDIT: The typos and use of the term "base" instead of bass shows how careless this company can be. They are not getting a dime from me.

Any preview on the Schiit Yggdrasil results?
That's like asking me about the ending of a new movie. :) So I will be vague. It is not nearly as bad as their other products I have reviewed.

Are we there yet daddy, huh, huh, are we there yet. :)

That's wonderful. Perhaps I should follow a similar pricing model for the code I write with different tiers - For $2500 I will write one function that is bug-free and performance is optimal. For $1250, I will provide the same function with a few bugs and average performance. For $300, I will give you bugs and some working code that crawls to completion. The problem is I can't sleep at night with this model.

'Not nearly as bad' ranges from 'still quite bad' to 'optimal and bug-free', so don't get ahead of yourself, you could still price the optimal code at the 6000$ tier or so.
