Yet another reason why I don’t have a “smartphone”.
Well i have to admit i do still have a smartphone. Probably about 15yrs old, cracked screen, broken camera, but still works for what i need it to do, make calls LOL. I dont mind shelling out a few bucks for audio gear, but i just can't justify getting a new phone.

Resurrecting this thread. Here’s a recent article diving into the platform more. I like the idea that this is a dialog based social platform. And it could be thought of as a live podcast where people can participate with the hosts.

I thought about this again now there is a cadre of reviewers like @amirm and @hardisj who are investing in measuring equipment and posting measurements. They could have a room where they are talking about their work and the rest of us could join the discussion.

I do have live sessions on YouTube from time to time where I answer questions. In fact, I planned to have another one this weekend to ask any questions people may have about my recent tests (Kef R3, DD8c, JBL HDI, Kali) or other stuff. It's not the same thing as the clubhouse (which kinda seems weird to me, if I'm being honest) but if my live stream stuff sounds like something you're interested in, make sure you subscribe and hit the notifications bell on my channel. The YT channel link is in my sig.

Next step: @amirm on TikTok

just kidding..
Hank Green is on TikTok, answering any educational/science questions the youth have:

For those that don’t know, John & Hank Green are brothers who started on YouTube a long time ago:

• They created Vidcon (YouTubers annual conference)
• John wrote many books, such as The Fault in Our Stars, which got turned into a great movie.
• They created CrashCourse, a channel of education videos. The comments on Hank’s TikTok are flooded with “You taught a generation“, which is no stretch of the imagination, ask any kid you know who is in school, they will know of it, many teachers show their videos.

It's my guess that the porn industry is going to be making a lot of money with this clubhouse thing. Isn't that why the internet was invented?

I think it would be a fabulous use of Clubhouse to broadcast you and Amir using the Klippel to measure a speaker. Cursing and hammering away at it to get it working the way you want!

I not take latest picture where the cb radios are in my bedroom as I don't want them too near the audio THX dolby system, but great thing is they hardly interfere in fact I seen 0 on the Oled sure they can interfere with some of the amplifiers or maybe cinema processors but Not now as they are farther away in another room. tv today is on way different frequency digital G Hz freq, than past where I actually blew up, my dad's friend neighbour Sony colour from a distance of 4 homes distance with 200watts! Thou the 200w wasn't really the case it was the shape of the signal as I had what I thought around 1982 a bad SWR I thought I had water in the base coil? It turned out to be a dry solder joint on the coaxial for the aerial from the 200w amplifier and if I had a scope or would today, I bet the signal wouldn't be normal waveform it was the waveform from hell!

It did interfere with my Dad's colour 26" and even the Hitachi VCR mono, with Dolby System type-B, I had thee worlds first VCR with visual times speed of x50! Cos when I transmitted the speed on the VCR thout it is messing with chips inside and telling the voltage for the servo motors to go at x30 in normal play when I used the remote and Visual search and keyed up! It went x50! Then it cut the TV out! Whoa! All tv have protection on them as it turned out when switching off, push in and out botton, and switched back On, whew cos my Dad would have gone spare! Thou out at the time. Not so good for his friend few doors along that came in the home as they where close friends and was Barking Red Face Angry, and had every right to be. IO would if the tables was turned. Thou IT shouldn't have happened I didn't know till even week later still Thinking? I had water in the base coil with an SWR at nearly 4 SWR which is Bad!

Gave up cb after 1980 till '87 and today only few couple years ago got more less same radio had Cobra 148 GTL-DX, only now Superstar 360FM and even got a Superstar 2000 as they where so cheap and in working order from ebay. got antt on outdoors and have so far gotten to Italy 4 times, Denmark once, Scotland, once. Thee furthest I got during 80's was Falkland islands, wow half way around the planet. You don't get further than that. Middle USA once for few minutes then the skip on the SSB suddenly drops out.

Here is where CB radio came in and help me fix repair my DOLBY STEREO CP200 ... the meter filters was all jammed up after made in 1980 and would have seen a lot of needle movement. Thou most CB radios often only have the needle move so much due to RF signal or dB scale reading.

Meters I got from USA special order delivery for the DOLBY STEREO CP200. The meters are same as the Cobra 148 GTL-DX or Superstar 360FM, I thought they looked familiar?

Repair of the Dolby cat-109 C, meters fitted with new meters made for a CB radio or other audio devices that used these small meters. There is a difference in the design and the way they had to be fitted to the card for the control unit slots.

The labels had to be removed from each of the meters and swapped around. The needle on the new meter was white and a simply painting it red.
Soldering up the wires + to - make sure the needle moves in the correct direction as reversing the + - will make the needle move in the opposite direction.

Meters work great as if its a brand new CP200.
