In all due respect to Amir: has he ever tested and posted about his main system?
I would be curious in the results and would he change anything?
I for one highly respect his insight and professional opinion.

Thanks Amir if you respond.

I know he has Salon2s. That right there is a great start.

The crossovers are LR4 all the way. Busting audiophile twaddle about LR4 sounding bright, sterile, too focussed etc etc.

He has mentioned several times how heavy his Mark Levinson amps are. I don´t know if they´re still in use or there are different ones.

Not sure if he's made changes since posting this:
Equipment:
  • Mark Levinson amplifiers and DAC.
  • Revel Salon 2 Speakers
  • Berkeley Alpha USB->AES/EBU converter
  • Windows 10, silent, custom PC music server
  • Roon Music Management
  • Tidal Music Streaming
I thought that he had Benchmark amps, not sure.

How odd he doesn't mention the cabling ;)

Obviously he scrapes by with a Mark Levinson amp. I guess you have to economize somewhere! :p

One is often asked if placing your eggplant too close to your asparagus in your system leads to hydroponi interference…or HF for short. It’s an easy problem to be confused about since the new white paper from the Department of Agriculture “ Electrons and Brassica “

the Berkeley Alpha USB->AES/EBU is not a converter but an interface for the converter I don't remember if it's Matrix or RME ADI PRO or both? and for the amplification I think it's rather huge Mark Levison that consume tons of electricity .:)

I think he mentioned once he's a bit worried about frying the system putting it through some tests, or can't be assed hauling it where it needs to be to be tested. Something to that effect (unless I'm thinking of some other reviewer).

Me personally? I told him once before and still maintain, he's worried about seeing the numbers, and potentially ruining the placebo, or creating a new one if the numbers turn out badly :p

I believe he mentioned one of the ML amps was "acting up".

I think both are. They'll be expensive ornaments if he doesn't get onto a repair soon. ;)

Probably doesn't get time to listen to the system and it's gathering dust. Those 10.5" NAB reels are all covered in dust and the speakers are full of cobwebs, random critters and small woodland creatures.

Time to send the AP off for a holiday at the calibration facility and have a rest from reviewing...

I sure he alway run this ML and Reveal with sinewave and look at graphs everyday.

He probably doesn't have much free time to listen to his system, as he spends an inordinate amount of his free time measuring/reviewing for us. He should take a week off and just immerse himself in the best sound he can muster.
