Am I crazy? WiiM Ultra Amp + Dynaudio

The single only difference is it doesn’t get anywhere near as loud as the Yamaha can
They put out the same power so they should be as loud. Check that you dont have volume limit on. (although if small hands can reach the volume knob you might want to leave this on.) Also turn off auto headroom, unless you think you need it. If room fit is adding a lot of level to the bass, this will also decrease the percieved volume at max power out.

You can see the power out level by turning on a meter and setting it to output. If your not hitting zero (max power) you can increase the source input level (up to 10 db) till you get there.

Are you saying the meters actually work and the numbers are meaningful? I had no idea. I thought they were just a fun visual.

RoomFit also has a non-boost mode.

I recommend to make profiles for all 3 curves and also non/boost. And to only correct below Schroeder frequency anyway. Although no harm in doing more profiles and see what it suggests.

The WiiM a bit more even but no I don’t have volume control on.

I was just poking around and to my surprise I saw they also just added moving mic option to Roomfit. Going to give it a shot.

Do you have an external mic? If not, it is important to remove the case from your phone.

I used the iPhone mic but with case on. I have a umik 1 mic from a long while ago. I wonder if that’s compatible with iPhone or I’ll have to find my old android phone.

It is! I use the umik 1 with my iPhone. You can load the cal files directly into the WiiM app.
Good to know! Going to dig up my mic. One more question do you measure with the mic vertical or horizontal? I vaguely remember both were an option with REW

Not sure but they seem close. They seem to be peak meters which is what you need, there too fast for Vu. I leave my volume limit at 80%, unfortunately its not in db, and at max level, with the input meter hitting -1 streaming spotify (input meter not affected by EQ), and no EQ (output meter is affected by EQ) and the out level at 100% the output meter shows -10. And thats as loud as Ive ever had it.

It would be nice for Wiim to chime in.

I’m pretty sure the formula is -3dB drop for each 5% drop in volume limit.
