Hard agree. I wish Roon would integrate it, and offer its suggestions/radio feature. Leaps and bounds ahead, with really interesting suggestions. Roon just devolves to Mahler, Hans Zimmer, or Serialists, regardless of starting point. I’ve seen it go from Haydn to Frank Bridge in less than two steps.Just FYI, Idagio is the best for classical now adays
Just FYI, Idagio is the best for classical now adays. It's entirely tailored for classical. A lot better than Roon's implementation. Apple music classical is pretty good, but is missing some cool features. My favorite new feature on idagio lets you select a work (from a currently rather small list), and let's you listen to it, instantly switching from one interpretation to another, while maintaining your place. It's incredible. You can find a section you particularly love, and very quickly and easily audition several interpretations of just that section.
It seem to be integrated into Sonos, assuming Sonos works. There is no way to control Idagio remotely. When I cancelled my subscription a year ago, I told them that all they need to do is get their Android app to talk to the desktop app. They said they would put it on their "to-do" list.
In pop music, I call this the Radiohead Effect, where everything I listen to is seemingly two degrees of separation from Radiohead according to the Great Algorithm.. One degree...I went to school with Jonny and Colin, primary school. Jonny was a pretty good violinist in Ensemble...In pop music, I call this the Radiohead Effect, where everything I listen to is seemingly two degrees of separation from Radiohead according to the Great Algorithm.
With my Chrome plugin, you can play from Tidal, Qobuz or Deezer (assuming they all still work, I only use Tidal now) with a single click on an Allmusic album page to your WiiM. A bit simpler than Allmusic's method, and is my go-to my "Roon replacement".I've subscribed to Allmusic and it works out as just over £9 per year in the UK. It does already have a very rudimentary integration with Amazon Music and Spotify. So if I launch the Amazon Music app and pre-connect to my Wiim Pro Plus. Then into the allmusic site to browse music. You can then click-through to either Amazon or Spotify apps automatically to play the music artist you have found in allmusic. Which plays on the Wiim as it is pre-connected. As I said VERY rudimentary but cheaper than Roon
How hard would it be to add Amazon Music? Also for this to work on Android presumably you'd need another chromium based based browser like Yandex/Kiwi?With my Chrome plugin, you can play from Tidal, Qobuz or Deezer (assuming they all still work, I only use Tidal now) with a single click on an Allmusic album page to your WiiM. Yes, it works on Kiwi. Amazon Music is impossible for mere mortals, sadly. How hard would it be to add Amazon Music? Also for this to work on Android presumably you'd need another chromium based based browser like Yandex/Kiwi?
Ok thanks. I assume Spotify is also difficult?Yes, it works on Kiwi. Amazon Music is impossible for mere mortals, sadly.
Hundreds of Spotify Connect JavaScript projects on GitHub, so I assume it's possible. Spotify isn't integrated into WiiM, which is just a Spotify Connect target, so it would need to be very different than my Tidal, etc Allmusic integrations. As I don't use Spotify, I'm not planning to look into it.Ok thanks. I assume Spotify is also difficult?
