Alsozone /3e Audio GaN Monoblocks | New Comer

Are you implying 74dB SINAD?

I’m drawing a parallel, hoping it turns out to be wrong... because it really is a very mediocre result.

BTW : 3E Audio has always made a habit of sharing measurements, and I don't know why this Mono GaN unit is an exception to the rule.

My amp tracking says they will be delivered tomorrow! Sometimes they arrive the day after the estimate with this particular shipper I've noticed. Excited to try these out. Lol I'll post some pics vs the huge amps I currently have

Please do, and make sure to choose angles and distance for maximum contrast. Maybe put kitty or banana for scale :D

I can guarantee you a banana will be in the photos :) I wish I could find which cable bin my kill-a-watt meter was in so I could post comparative power usage too :( it's somewhere.. but where? lol
edit: I found the kill-a-watt! power usage info soon! also will be fun to test out my purifi gen 2 that uses a toroid instead of smps, and my burmester t9.4 clone

Please share picture of the internal chipset )

initial thoughts: what is this? a monoblock for ants?! so tiny lol. auto-on worked immediately with my laiv verse without me having to change auto on sensitivity from low to high. I've had a subwoofer with a cheap plate amp where the auto-on was unusable and I saw people report the new aayima monoblocks also have unusable auto-on so this was a worry I had but it seems all is good thanks to the great engineering of 3E/Alsozone :) just this feature alone preventing me from having to bend over and reach behind the amps to turn them on is such a nice bonus for me.
Kill-a-watt power readings: gan monos 4 watts each for 8 total, purifi gen 2 toroid power supply 27 watts, burmester clone t9.4 190 watts(might have been 170 after

settling/toroids finished filling I don't remember)

Without falling prey to confirmation bias—how does it sound?

sounds great! I do notice a slight hiss if I put my ear 2" from my tweeters but I hear nothing from my listening position(sitting a few feet away at my desk). I'm using the xlr outs of my laiv verse dac/pre. going to be using these going forward for the space and power savings in my desk setup instead of the gen 2 purifi

4W idle. Nice! For stereo, that's about half of my NC252MP (~15W).

And thanks for banana :D

I turned off my PC and room fan now I'm hearing a little speaker hiss/hum :/. I'll try making my psu and interconnect cables less messy to see if it helps

In any case, let's wait for some measurements and internal pictures ... I remain very skeptical about its performance.

I didn't notice any significant hissing or buzzing from the speakers while I was sitting in a living room chair. Could you describe the sound quality difference between a Cymax amplifier and a GaN amplifier? I'm considering buying a Cymax multichannel amplifier or building a multichannel amplifier using GaN amplifiers.

They Come with 5A 48v ps is there any benefit of running these on 10A 48v? Thanks
I bought one. The YJCO D816. I compared the power supplies, purely subjectively, in terms of sound. On my system, with my speakers, Martin Logan Ethos, the 10 A power supply clearly sounds better. In every way. The difference to the 5 A power supply isn’t huge, but it’s easy to hear. For the small price difference between the power supplies, it’s not really worth serious consideration.

Your test methodology is wrong, which leads you to wrong conclusions. Have someone switch the power supply without you knowing which is which. If you get 18 out of 20 correct, then we can talk.
There is nothing in having a bigger power supply that leads to better sound. It only gives more power, but that only has an effect if you play on the limit of the small supply, meaning you have to play very loud to detect a change.
