All things about Cymax Power Amplifier

Since we do not know the behavior of the E50 under load, this is unfortunately not a fact.
Buffers are here to avoid doubts. Designing a unity gain ultra low noise buffer is no rocket science.
Hopefully Amir will do a full test with measurements of the E50 II soon. Do you question the specifications from Topping?

Amir's (and Topping's) measurements are done in a 100 k load. 1ET6526SA input impedance is 2.2k.

Well, after some testing and gain level matching I have removed the Topping E50 II external DAC and gone back to the internal ESS ES9038Q2M with Brick Wall filter in the WiiM Ultra. Using EQ at 1 kHz with +1.5dB for my Wharfedale Lintons. The Lintons need that little extra boost especially for snare drums. Pregain set to -4.5dB to prevent ISP and EQ-clipping. Gain setting for my Purifi 1ET6525SA power amp set to max at 29.3dB. It has a buffer board with an independent power supply and dual OPA828 op-amps. I must admit that I can't heard any difference with this combination through RCA compared to the Topping via XLR with 11.3 Vrms high output level and the amplifier gain set at the default Purfi level at 12.3dB with bypassed op-amps. I guess both solutions have so low THD and SNR that it doesn't matter for our human ears.

Hi everyone! I just got a pair of Cymax 1ET9040BA Pro monoblocks. Build quality is excellent and they run very cool but quite heavy. Paired with the Micro Audio SMPS, Weiss OP2-BP and the buffer board LPS, they sound amazing and incredibly smooth. Those interested can check out the photos I took.
They look beautiful I guess the only issue is if they need to be serviced, then what?

they are pretty modular, hopefully they can just mail replacement pcbs

My 9040 monoblocks are currently working perfectly fine, so I don't have much practical experience with Cymax's after-sales service. However, I did some homeworks before purchasing. Several users I know claimed their customer service is first rate. Their technical team usually responds to inquiries within 24 hours. If any problems arise within two weeks of receiving the product, they cover the round-trip shipping costs for repair or replacement. After that, if any issues occur within the warranty period, they immediately send out the necessary replacement parts if they can diagnose the issue. I think this is where their modular design advantage kicks in, as sending the amp back and forth is no easy task, especially going through customs procedures. If the problem cannot be diagnosed or the user cannot replace the parts himself and the amp needs to be sent back for repair, the user and Cymax each bear one shipping cost.

my purifi 6525 with the 1000va dual mono toroid power supply arrived! it has 3 gain levels, bypass, low 19.3, and high 26.3db. The toroid has a nice metal shield over it. The enclosure stacks great with my dac too. I'm super happy with it. No hissing from my tweeter even when I push my ear against it!

It came double boxed with complementary xlr cables and stock black power cord. It sounds like a small detail, but I really appreciate the screws were high quality and wouldn't strip when I removed them to take the cover off. Used a big hex bit on my precision screwdriver set to remove the screws. Came with a nice audio precision report. They emailed me the manual pdf. Very good support at every step of the purchase process. They seem like a top class company and should definitely be considered when purchasing a new class d amp.

forbidden subjectivist upgrades
neotech wire, neutrik xlr/rca, nicer binding posts, 1000va dual secondary outputs for pseudo dual mono instead of 800va toroid. installed my own discrete 2590 opamps

My setup with the Cymax 1ET6525SA stereo power amplifier that work very well. I have set the filter to no. 6 in the Topping E50 II since I imagine (could be pure psychoacoustics) some less sibilants from compressed audio via streaming services like Netflix.

Can I ask how you are doing the attenuation? Or are you running at a fixed volume?

Using the digital volume control in the WiiM Ultra working as the preamp and streamer. I did run the E50II in pure DAC-mode.

Some users have reported that when using a DAC with digital volume control as a preamplifier, paired with a power amplifier based on Purifi Audio or Hypex modules and powered by Hypex SMPS, the sound tends to be dry. As your system setup is similar, but your 6525 amp uses LPS instead of SMPS, so I'm wondering how your system's sound characteristics are.

What do you mean by «dry». If the listening room and speakers are adequate the WiiM Ultra and Purifi class D modules will not be the limiting factor.
